Amazon handles customer returns

Is it worth the additional premium over tab3? I know processor is faster (1.5 vs 1.2) and screen resolution is near hd for nexus 7 but doesn't seem worthwhile on such a small device. It's not capable of doing anything too taxing...

Cold no SD slot. Rather have a Hudl at half the price.

For what it's worth I managed to get the 4g/lte version from John Lewis at cost midweek but it sold out very quickly. From memory I don't recall every seeing an offer for the 3G 2012 model (that's no to say there wasn't as I'm sure there was
but just not as often as wifi only). This is why i took the plunge and just went for it.

Hudl gets good reviews but having looked at them both the nexus is far superior. The hudl is good for the sd slot tho and that really would be icing on the cake for the nexus. Perhaps next years model

No memory card slot but you can use extra a flash drive via USB otg and an app (can't remember the name) in the Play store for extra storage

You won't see a MicroSD slot on any new Nexus device, Google hates them. Probably to push people to the cloud and make some extra money from the inflated extra memory costs. Only the very first Nexus (One) had a memory card slot.

Tab 3 is only dual core and Nexus is quad, Nexus is full he which is nearly twice the res of the Tab. Doesn't make the Tab bad, it's still perfectly capable, but they are worlds apart in spec. New Kindle is better still but is lumbered with fire os.

I looked at the Hudl but decided on the nexus 32gb 2012 in the end (argos refurb for £119) - glad I did, Oh and if you need the extra storage the nexus supports OTG so you can use one of these for £3 to use usb sticks in it

I'm loving the nexus - will probably sell it in 6 months and get this 2013 version.

i got the 7 inch version yesterday but prefer this one , will hold off to black friday or Dec crash . cant complain as was lucky enough to get the 7 inch version 2013 for £129.99 which was a mistake on john lewis part, lets hope they honour the purchase

It's a good deal but I'd wait and see what Black Friday brings if you're not desperate for one. If nothing turns up on Black Friday you'll still have chance to take up Curry's offer (cashback + quidco) which won't be much different.

Certainly a deal worthy of some heat though.

Google are doing the KitKat 4.4 OTA update for this. I received my update a few days ago.

Nexus 7 has a quad core CPU, will always have the latest version of Android first for the next 2 years, and it doesn't have Samsung's horrible TouchWiz UI on it.

Also, the screen isn't near HD, it's full HD. In fact, it's even better than full HD. The Tab3 isn't even 720p.

The Nexus 7 has a better GPU (Adreno 320), more RAM (plus a more efficient OS which uses less RAM than previous versions)

On top of that the Nexus 7 looks and feels better :)

Edit: better cameras on the Nexus 7 as well

This isn't from Amazon. clearly. It's from a marketplace seller, why hasn't the deal title been changed?

...and yet of the two I find that I use the 8 inch Samsung and the 2nd gen Nexus just gathers dust. The smaller screen size means that web browsing is more awkward - desktop sites are not designed for the nexus and mobile sites make you feel like you might as well be using your phone. Despite the lower ppi (or perhaps because of it) the overall browsing experience on the 8 inch Samsung is better.

I find the CPU and ram on the Samsung to be up to the job.

It is so easy to get swayed but spec sheets and not look at the device right in front of you.

When I clicked on the link, just now, it says "By Amazon".

I suppose that's why.

I very much doubt Google will put an sd card in the nexus, they easily could have done with last year's and this year's models, but chose not to, I think, like Apple, sd expansion will never be seen on these premium products.

No, it has said the following for the past few hours:

'In stock.
Sold by DIGITAL SALES and Fulfilled by Amazon.'

Do you only read the last two words of every sentence?

Most important thing to note: Amazon will not refund your money unless they receive it from the retailer. You are NOT buying from Amazon.

If you dont like the sound of buying from a secondary retailer from Amazon then think about getting it from Currys

http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing/ipad-tablets-and-ereaders/tablets/google-nexus-7-by-asus-32-gb-21515696-pdt.html

works out to £210 after the £30 cash back and you have options to go in-store should any problems arise and get it dealt with quickly.

You can get it from Amazon for the same price. And that actually comes from Amazon and you don't need to wait several months for the cashback (had this experience myself last time around) to come through.

Also keep in mind that you have to submit your cashback claims within certain time periods. i.e. not too early and not too late.

Prices has gone up to £209.99 direct form Amazon .

For those who're looking for a smashing deal for 10" tablet. I Just got one from Ebay Deals, a Lenovo IdeaTab S6000 Quad Core Tablet 16GB, Wifi, 10.1", Android 4.2 WITH Bluetooth keyboard & Case £189.99.
Apparently it was £219 yesterday.
