its the same price on the google play store (has been for a week) personally id rather buy it direct from Google for their great customer service. (great deal though imho for this device). 2yr warranty is standard too,

Definitely isn't on tablets. IOS is the best tablet OS.

Because they smell like a rotten apple and made in China ... X)

Curry's took my money for over a month & didn't deliver the product I ordered. Numerous delivery dates given, which were all false. Will never buy another product from Currys again.

Sadly recent model of nexus was produced by Huawei and most of the HTCs were produced in China as well....

Was this price when the 32gb model dropped the other week. I flubit'ed it and got 360 along with £40 cashback on quidco at the time. Absolutely love it and an awesome price for it.

Nice price but if reports are correct, Samsung Galaxy S3 is due 1st quarter 2017 at around £399 for the 10.1". I suspect it will be a Pixel C slayer. If you can hold out till March at the latest, I believe it will be worth the wait.

Hmm, wait till march and risk getting an exploding device? No thanks :D

But on a serious note, I have an iPad and I love how simple iOS is, although my iPad is jailbroken.
Android always feels slow and clunky.

Personal preference I guess at the end of the day.. I personally think I'll stick to Android (_;)

Hmmm, I still think the Z3 Compact tablet is better for £189 at Argos, screen size is smaller, by everything else about it is great.

Android tablets are garbage. They severely lack quality apps for the big screen. iPad is to far ahead. Pixel C is just a large web browser, really.
I use Android for tablet and phone but wouldn't buy another tablet unless dust dirt cheap.
#23
OP .. there's no mention of the amount of RAM of/on this Deal?. :-)

Having used these the size/shape remind me of the original iPad 1, theres are big and clunky, wasn't impressed.

The Pixel C is not made by HTC. It's Google's own brand.

The iPad Air 2 32GB is the same price but smaller screen & 4:3 ratio, slower, less DPI - basically inferior technology bigged up by Apple's undeniably polished marketing.

I dislike everything Apple, I hate everything they stand for.

Unlikely, it'll have the Samsung's hideous TouchWiz UI on anyway

I personally can't be bothered getting into the whole IOS / Android bickering however...... One thing I do know is these are an excellent media player and run Kodi natively out of the box really well, which keeps my daughter quiet in the car, hot from me.

because this tablet was rated as the best tablet to buy for 2016? on every site except CNET of course, which I think is run by Apple.

It was? By whom? Most sites seem to have forgotten the Pixel C exists.

Great tablet but do yourself a favour and buy from Google direct.

£ THREE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY NINE POUNDS AND NINETY NINE PENCE

Think about it. Do you really need a tablet that expensive?

If I had the money to throw away, I'd buy it in a heart beat. But fork it. I am a poor sod.

Bad Google !!! They don't manufacturer any devices ..... You would think so, if you read or watch there press releases.
It's same with most US companies ... X)

Yes it's expensive, but people buy expensive Apple devices without criticism, so why not Android?
Seeing it is Christmas I have ordered one from Google at the reduction in price.

I've had the Pixel C for nearly a year and it is just about the perfect tablet IMHO. My wife has the iPad Air and that is also a great bit of kit, the big differences for me are the supporting infrastructure, if you are someone who just wants a tablet that you don't have to think too much about but which is a good performer and you are an Apple fan then the iPad is the right answer, if you want a top specced bit of kit which you can add all sorts of 3rd party developed software to (like Kodi, Showbox, Mobdro etc etc), which you can get to the OS for file management and which you can choose better apps than Apple's forcedware for things like browsing, email etc then the Pixel is a fantastic choice. At this price the Pixel C is a great buy.
#38
They obviously realised how ridiculously overpriced their Pixel stuff is.
#39
More likely they realise it's now a year old and should be discounted. Hopefully there will be a new one next year.

A great tablet no doubt but the original price for a 64GB unit being nearly £500? Judging by that price and the equally ridiculously priced Pixel phones I think there is some serious crack smoking going on in the GooglePlex....
