I had the same model i think from tesco ages ago, can easily be made to run tomtom and xvid/divx etc

only thing that let it down was having to use batteries to get tomtom working or you will have run a separate program (regediter) before running tomtom when just on the car power supply.

Well worth the money

I have one. Well worth £40 you can also get speed camera locations on it from http://www.poihandler.com/ Its around £12 per year subscription

Sounds like a pretty good price but I would pay the extra for the MyGuide 3100, it is spot on with tomtom, igo, media player etc.

Heat added as this is the lowest I have seen a satnav since halfords sale!

great price...heat added.

Hot. Thanks this site i my know all sat nav use either navtek or teleatlas and then the software is nearly all the same using windows ce to run smart2go or mio, but with a different start up screen.
#9
I think the screen is too small, 2.8" is same size as my N95 8GB, has to be at least 3.5". Be wary of this people.

Good price - but hopefully getting a free one soon

medion sent me one of these when they coulnt repair my md 95900 (mdpna 200) which cost £279.00 about 3 years ago
i hated it, although it had great software (GOPAL)
found the screen too small as i was used to alot bigger screen
and no re-charging facility just 4 pencil batteries
after alot of moaning and complaining they offered me a pna500 (old model)
but when it turned up they sent me a pna 460 or 4210 as its also known which was there latest range
which was an awsome bit of kit
in my opinion as good as my tomtom 720
and came with the tmc antenna
so if you want a sat nav to use once in a while this will probally do the job
also has speed cams installed but not mobile van sites ( i changed mine to pocketworld gps speed cameras)
but if you want one to use daily for speed cameras or navigationetc...
spend a bit more
thats my honest opinion

scott

Good product, but very easy to switch on by accident (eg in a glove compartment). Eats batteries (4 at a time - and doesnt re-charge them).

Yep but also Carphone Warehouse, and Tesco have sold these in the past, but not this cheap.

I use TomTom for Symbian on the older N95 with a 2.6" screen and it does the job, so for £42 2.8" should be OK, occasional use.

Not unless it has an SD card slot, which it doesn't mention.

Is this not it?

256 MB integrated memory card + expansion slot for additional memory

So has anyone had experience of putting TomTom on these, or european mapping?

We've had one of these for 18 months, wouldn't recommend it.

It constantly freezes which is useless. It's taken to sending you down minor roads (I'm in Cornwall, this usually means a farm track :x)

Plus it comes with 2002 maps and to update to 2005 is £80.

Not worth it I'm afraid.
#26
might get this, thanks

Got this from Tescoes last Easter (IIRC) for 49.95. Well worth the money IMHO as I've modded it to run TomTom and added a video player to play divx/mp3 from SD cards.
As another poster said, the only problem with the TomTom mod is that when your batteries run out the device resets somehow and TomTom won't work. You need to use a prog called regedit for Windows Mobile to load a modified reg file each time that happens (takes all of five seconds once you've got it set up right). TomTom runs fine otherwise, at full speed, with the ladies voice and everything.
If you plug the unit into the fag lighter in your car then the batteries will not run down so fast, reducing the problem mentioned above.

Looks like it needs to go on a bit of a diet. Even the old TomTom 300 series didn't have this much depth to it.

I don't recommend putting this in your trouser pocket when you leave your car, unless you want to look like you're "packing heat" :-D

i found speed cameras better from pocketworld gps to be honest
also worth updating poi warner lite to full version
from www.navigating.de the select english
this works on all makes of sat nav
instead of just a bleep it warns you twice for each speed camera
I.E. WARNING MOBILE CAMERA AHEAD 30 SECONDS
WARNING MOBILE CAMERA AHEAD 20 SECONDS
can't seem to find the link for the tutorial on how to install and set up the speed cameras but if any one wants it let me know as i should have a print out in the box so can get the web address from that
