my mate recommend it, it will reduce battery power, but if your using the camera to take pictures of your mates etc its great to see you have got the shot.. he recommended not to keep it on as it will consume power, but usefull to flick on get the picture and flick off,
you can watch back video on it aswell.

it comes with additional cases (3 in all), the battery bacpac at £32 may be usefull to give an extra 100% battery life for a day out.. if your fixing the gopro to a bike, surfboard, canoe etc.

I'm personally going to get another inner battery and then have backup and can use my lcd.. looking forward to getting it

I've been looking at getting a Hero 3+ silver (and was contemplating getting this). Would I just be better paying a little bit more than those combined and getting the Hero 4 silver?

Not really sure I.m new to it all, I don't think the 4 has an lcd back and just reading up, the LCD will only fit the silver edition 4 (not the black edition one)

There might be a problem getting the replacement back doors these come with to fit on the hero3+ and hero4 housings.

i've read a review on the 1st comment link which said the doors didnt fit so he rang gopro uk and they shipped him free of charge

Double check these bacpacs are the latest versions. The new battery bacpac has 15% more power and the new LCD has the swipe function found on the Hero 4 Silver.

I suspect these are the older models.

Caved in and picked up the last touch LCD bacpac at a local Argos.

For info, the one I was given is the lastest 3rd gen model. Says for Gopro Hero4, Hero3+ and Hero3 on the side and model number ALCDB-401. I have the Hero4 Black so chuffed - especially as I could finally use my £10 voucher to make it £39.99
#13
Mine never arrived, fingers crossed Monday now, I'm hoping the ALCDB401 is the same as GP3070, Just had a Google search and they appear to be the same

why do you need this if you have the hero 4? It already has the screen

______________

I believe only slightly lower model in the range ( Hero4 Silver) has a little screen built in on the back
#17
Hero 4 Black has the screen as well. Of the current range only the Hero entry level one has no screen and this bacpac will not fit as it doesn't have the port.
These will fit the Hero 3 Silver and 3 Black+

damn i just got mine and the model is ALCDB-304 presumably the second generation.
I rang the gopro helpline and they are unable to see this version (must be old stock) think I'll return and reorder at argos.
can anyone confirm the difference,

It looks like
ALCDB-304 box states compatible with hero3+, Hero3, (includes 6 backdoors, 3x for regular hero3 case and 3x dive housing) as above
ALCDB-401 box states compatible with hero 4, hero3+, Hero3 (if you have a hero 3, you need to buy additional case)

I bought the GoPro touch LCD bacpac from Argos at the weeken off the back of this post. I have the Gopro Hero4 Black and this accessory works very well. The actual LCD screen estate seems much larger than the one built in to the Hero4 Silver. The model number of the product Argos supplied ends with a -401 and it says it is designed for the Hero4 Hero3+ and Hero3. You get the special back doors to enable the Gopro with LCD bacpac to both fit inside your underwater housing. There are 3 of these in the box; one clear plastic backdoor for scuba diving, one backdoor good enough for snorkelling (up to about 3 meters) but the clear plastic back of the door still enables the LCD touch control to work, and another backdoor that has direct open access to touch the screen directly.

If your LCD touch screen works and is swipe enabled then I dare say the only difference may be just in the accessories (back doors) to fit previous go pro models.

It must have been a nice surprise to receive an extra battery at no extra charge - that was nice of them!

Shame I got the older model, but decided to keep it as I have the hero 3 and it seems to work well, although not sure a swipe function exists. Most of the time it.ll be on my bike, so won't use my lcd, but perfect for holidays etc,

Yeah the batteries was a good suprise, they are hero3/3+ specific so ideal for me! must be clearing his stock down.. £14.50 amazon versus £12 (£6 each)

From what I can tell this is for a '3030'.. Not a '3070' which is also listed on their website at a higher price.

Looks like argos have amended to gp3030, it definately said gp3070 a few weeks back
I got the older barcode GP3070 off an independent for £45, sold the dive housing doors on ebay and recouped £30 , so happy at £15 for an lcd and 3 standard doors

Bought this last week at argos for £44.99 - Model number ALCDB-401

So I have a gopro hero 4 silver and I can't work out whether the touch screen bacpac actually doubles battery life of the gopro as does the standard non screen bacpac?? Can someone let me know and better still run some tests and see what battery life is with the lcd bacpac
