Just spotted this on the Argos website, was looking for a GoPro and was toying between the black and the silver, there's a few spec differences, the main being 4k, but i don't have a lot of use for this so thought id save myself a few quid and get the Silver.

It says a saving of £80 and cheapest i've seen elsewhere is Amazon at £245 so seems pretty hot!

Okay for some reason it won't let me paste that link........ must be a dodgy seller???

Not sure but its £245 on amazon and £259.99 on curry's so would assume that the £149.95 is a diff product

I bought the ion camera that was on offer.... nice bit of kit, very stylish and very simple to use (just one slider switch and it's recording), so impressed I bought another, was a direct offer from ION website uk, buy the air pro lite and the wifi podz together for 114.95 delivered using code 'summer2014' at checkout (cam is 99 and podz is 39 normally) saving around 25 quid :)

Camera

WiFi podz

If the offers ended, sorry.... they do a budget model for 59.99 budget (plus del)

Can't see any marked difference between the speed pro I bought (hot deal) and the air lite apart from the different mounts and slightly less still pixels qulity :)

Tempting, was waiting for black deal to pop up again but might go for this. Argos doesn't list the accessories but I assume it's the same as the gopro website? 2 adapters and the casing

CRC have the Black for £256, if you're clever, you can get a bit more discount, too.

How does this compare to the Sony action cam? The AS30v is about £150 and seems like better quality and better stabilisation.

Heat added to cancel out the stupid comment.

I just bought the AS30 (from the recent Argos deal where you take a punt with them not having AS15).

It's not a great camera.

I find the image to be quite poor (blurred), droping the lens degree to 120 results in really bad image quality. No way to control settings, whites are over blown, often can't pick up licence plates when the sun hits them, could on the mobius camera I have. Waterproof case constantly steams up, alternative case (non waterproof) is about £25.

I actually prefer the little Mobius. I find the video quality better and having control over image settings is a must.

Although 60fps on the Sony is nice.

Thanks a lot, I just checked the Mobius. Quite a bit cheaper. What would you say the weak point of it is?

What is the battery life on one of these types of camera. @sonia84 I've got a mobius the battery charge only last for about 1hour give or take. It gets really hot to touch after a few mins recording i use mine as a dashcam and have it plugged into the cig lighter socket to keep it charged up. Other then that it's a great camera quality of the recording is excellent.

That's the heat-sink removing heat from the DSP, i.e. doing it's job. It'd only be a cause for concern if the heat-sink didn't get hot.

go outdoors price match and 10% off so cheaper through them

Small battery, 80 mins maximum. Not waterproof although there are some cases, I think the case looks a bit silly.

Can be a bit fiddly to use, although I had it set up so one button press turns it on and records, then another to turn it off.

But for the price, it's hard to complain.

You're funny.

EDIT: On reflection, you're not funny. Sorry.

I think this model is the black edition but just labeled silver as the case is silver. The model number says GP1021 which matches the black edition on other sites. Has anyone picked this deal up and can confirm if you get the wireless remote?
#27
Also mentions 12MP as opposed to the default 10MP for the silver edition

Thanks, I ordered one from China with the waterproof case from the US :)

Enjoy, it's really surprising how good it is for such a cheap device.

Although I will say the image quality on my ride home today was much better (not much sun). So the real issue with this sony cam is having no control over image, something which really should be standard for all cameras.

I'll be using the little mobius as a rear camera now.

I think its about 2 and a half hours.
I use a larger battery (Same physical size) and get about 3-3.5 hours out of it.
Well worth buying, even if it's just as a spare.

Me too. Asked if they would honour the spec mentioned on the website and they said no. I have managed to get the go outdoors price guarantee and beat it by 10% £179.99. Ended up with John Lewis price matching at £199.99 with their 2 year warranty.

The silver doesn't have a remote control though! Only the black does!!!!
