You can mount these cameras onto almost anything with complete piece of mind that it just isn't going to fall off! ( I have seen videos on YouTube where they have become detached but that must be down to not being properly fastened in the first place ) I have 2 mounts for mine, one on my helmet and the other on the fairing on a motorcycle and with all the vibration it hasn't even started to come loose so am well happy with it!

is this the best model out there at the moment for the go pro series?

gopro is an overhyped man toy... unless you are into serious outdoor activity or performance ..like a minimum of once every 3 months ...its a waste...The service is horrible. ..They gave me 20% off on a new gopro as they don't do repairs. ...

What makes the 3+ worth the extra money?

4k filming, 1080p 60fps and more.

I bought the silver, didn't see much point in getting the black over it.

I've always wanted a GoPro so I guess now is the time to pick one up!

gopro is an overhyped man toy... WHY? DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW MUCH A WOMAN SPENDS ON A PURSE OR MAKE-UP? unless you are into serious outdoor activity or performance ..like a minimum of once every 3 months ...its a waste...IF YOU CAN AFFORD IT, WHY NOT? The service is horrible. ..They gave me 20% off on a new gopro as they don't do repairs. ...I ASSUME YOURS BROKE? HOW DID IT HAPPEN? ARE YOU IMPLYING THAT THEY'RE NOT BUILT TO LAST, OR WAS IT THROUGH FAULT OF YOUR OWN?

Got my son one of these for his birthday (Hero black 3+) in April. He says it is easily the best thing he has ever owned!
He's a tree surgeon and I can now see how he spends his days as he sends me clips via his iphone! v scary
Says it is totally worth every penny......not my sort of thing but for those who find a use for it it is def useful kit :)

I think you get one or two stick on ones and a plate one, but no other mounts.
They're cheap on ebay anyway (Less than £2) and there's a great selection.

The go pro cameras are excellent but totally agree with ranaray regarding go pro customer services and warranty.I bought a go pro hero 3, white, 2 months ago from Jessops and first time i used it in the sea water snorkelling it leaked in through the front of the lens glass due to a faulty seal and broke the camera. Contacted go pro to request a replacement as it was obviously fault to whith the go pro the reply....go pro don't do warranty for and water damage (even though it was a faulty product), when i complained and said that was ridiculous the guy on the phone proceeded to tell me that it was my fault for not testing it was waterproof before using it! Complete joke after them bragging it is waterproof to 120 foot!! Maybe i have been one of the very unlucky few but trust me you don't want to have to call their customer services! O yea they offered me a 10% discount on a new go pro if i sent them my old one.....Insulting! Still in a war to get them to replace it. Customer service 0 out of 10.

I bought my hero 2 from argos. First one didn't work. So send it back. Got a 2nd and a part was missing. The 3rd has been fine for far. Ive had it 2 years.

Argos were pretty good with the replacements.

Love my Go Pro Black+ edition video quality is amazing!

Shame that couch potato's say its useless unless your using it every few months. Many people have digital cameras and only use them once or twice a year when they go away but they still get the value of some quality pictures when they are on holiday.

I use my go pro every few weeks and also take it on holiday with me its great for scuba diving or jet skiing etc when your abroad you get some quality videos for the price of a standard camera

Take back to Jessops and claim under the sale of goods act, it is the responsibilty of the retailer to provide goods that are faulty especially if the manufacturer isn't helping. Its an expensive camera which is not fit for purpose in this case so not hard to argue your case, just need to speak to someone who has authority.

That's hilarious. Did you ask him if it would have made a difference if the camera had leaked when you tested it?

Yes! I've noticed. Three times they've brought out unsealed boxes for me. Check the box as it arrives at the counter, if it isn't sealed then reject it and ask for another.

The hammer drill I bought had all the interior packaging (ties, bags, instructions etc) unpacked and thrown back into the box.

When I emailed them about this, they wrote back and said that they would never attempt to resell a return!

You can always go for a SJ4000 that are around £65-£70 if you're not sure how much use you'll get out of one of these and upgrade to the 3+ if you need 60fps at 1080p rather than 30.

If you really into extreme sports you'll probably not want to spend too much money on a camera that could get some nasty knocks anyway.

Or you might want to spend more one it to get the better quality image etc.
I've used it for climbing moutains, running events, obstacle courses, rafting etc and had no issues so far.

Even submerged it in my puffer fish tank at feeding time.

This seems a bit of a meh deal - at these specs you're better getting the SJ4000, or spending the extra ~£20 for the 3+ Silver. The black is somewhat overkill, especially as the Hero 4 has been detailed and is thought to have an RRP of £299

I have a 2, 3 white and 3 black plus.

The gopro 2 was better then the white. A 42 quid mobius camera is much better. Buy a waterproof case if you need one. Or the sj4000.

The 3 plus back really is amazing though.

I did give him an earful once he said that lol. I said in that case i will make a "waterproof camera case" made out of a tescos bag and say its waterproof to 1000 metres and once complaints come in just say i don't cover water damage and you should have checked it so its your fault..... he couldn't really answer me after i said that, so i demanded to talk to his boss, of which the conversation is ongoing.I have taken a video of the case showing that it leaks in a bowl of water and that its from the front and not the back seal so definitely not user error.

I did take it back to Jessops first but they said i had to contact go pro as go pro demand to go throughout the buyer and not the dealer ( jessops probably passing on the problem tbh) but if go pro continue to be completely unreasonable i shall take it to jessops and say about the sale of goods act. It is quite a bit of money to lose especially when its basically brand new!

It does not have 4k video. 15fps is not video in anyone's book

Get's a nice flip book thing going.

2.7k @ 30fps too.

Reason I didn't get the black is because the Silver did everything I needed it to do.
