The York and Albany restaurant is acclaimed chef Gordon Ramsay's latest venture. Originally a coaching house in the 1820's, the John Nash building overlooks the historical Regent's Park and the interior is designed by Russell Sage, who has used antique and contemporary to create a unique and elegant backdrop to your meal. The menu is characteristically excellent; dishes are sourced from trusted producers to create a seasonal and varied menu that includes dishes such as spicy gazpacho with olive oil, almonds and omelette Arnold Bennet, braised Pollack with preserved lemons and courgettes and desserts such as lemon pannacotta with white balsamic jelly. Three courses will cost an average of £40 per person; majestic food in majestic surroundings.

There's some Quidco via LM though, so might be worth it. But fair point.

Oh no, you might have to shell out an extra £2.25 tip (which is at your disgrecion)

Imo I would normally tip atleast a £5 no matter how large or small the bill. (provided it is a good service)

would he lower himself to even answer the sun though. doubt he's bothered about losing custom from Sun readers lol

and the story was about 'some' food being prepared off-site, not ready meals that go in a microwave lol

...i dont read the sun...I remembered the story being on the news at the time...I said I thought it was about the use of mic meals, then found the correct story....personally I prefer places that prepare the meals fresh on the premesis...thats all :)

As does Ramsay appear to, in his highly storyboarded and staged TV missions of culinary mercy TV programmes.

Do you never wonder how they manage to roast a chicken or make a beef wellington in the time it takes for you to eat your starter?
#15
Silly me, I assumed they did it in the restaurant KITCHEN ;-)

From what I understand, the food is prepared in the morning for the restaurant, it's only a small place and preparing stuff like that on order would be extremely difficult + not worth it.

So no, it's not Microwave meals, it's just prepared hours before and delivered to him.

Hot-ish - I was going to book but then realised it's a set menu:

Starters

Chilled tomato gazpacho, buffalo mozzarella, salted almonds

or

Carpaccio of Casterbridge beef with soused baby plum tomatoes, horseradish cream
Main courses

Braised belly of Wiltshire pork with polenta and buttered spring onions

or

Steamed fillets of lemon sole with lemon and herbs, red pepper vinaigrette
Desserts

Treacle tart, yoghurt sorbet

or

Chocolate brownie, black cherry compote

LM seem to have other offers on GR restaurants on their website.

I think you will find it is reheated and plated up in the restaurant kitchen. Don't think Gordon's kitchens are the only ones emplying this method, its been done in France for years and is more common than you probably think......
