Still making my mind up about this . It doesn't have the instant appeal of their previous albums, the tracks are certainly more street and rap. It takes a good few listens to even begin to take in the melodies or tempt you into singing along with the tunes. Is this a classic...no. Is it a good album...in patches. Ask me again in a week and the answer may be different...either way.

I'd say it's a typical Damon Albarn album - a couple of stand out tracks with some poor ones in between. This is a good price for the cd though.

I seriously suggest people listen to the tracks somehow in full before buying, this is not one of those "its a Gorillaz album it must be good" where you know its good. The Album is good as casual listening but by no mean any great hits.

some tracks which have grown on me:

Stylo
Superfast Jellyfish
On Melancholy Hill
To Binge

This album is absolutely fantastic. Been listening to it in the car since release and it gets better with every listen. Best album I have bought in a long while. If you liked the first couple of albums you will certainly love this. Q magazine gave it a deserved 5/5!

My Top 6 tracks so far.....

1. Empire Ants
2. Superfast Jellyfish
3. Stylo
4. Broken
5. Cloud of Unknowing
6. Rhinestone Eyes

Try before you buy, this is not "Demon Days" by a very long stretch. If Q Magazine gave this 5/5 then I seriously "Q"uestion who done the review. Some of the tracks are self indulgent writing that sound as though they were written by someone stoned out of their mind and who then get lost and tangled in the lyrics.
