I'd love to see those who vote cold explain why.

strange story, but enjoyable, worth a watch for those who haven't watched it before. The books are worth a read too though personally never wanted to read them twice.

I read the first book Titus Groan and found it absolutely superb, the fight in the Spider Hall being the highlight that most sticks in my mind and which was, IMHO, poorly depicted in the TV series.

I started reading the second book but I became worried that I was going to die of boredom and so that was as far as I got.

Great music from Richard Rodney Bennett.

The 3rd book in the trilogy is a bit odd, but that's not in this DVD so it doesn't matter
It's a very good version IMNSHO

Was the third book basically unfinished? I'm sure Mervyn Peake died before it's completion, though I'm not entirely sure. The trilogy is sitting on my shelf unloved and unread so far, wanted to read it for a while now but I'm trying damn hard to trudge through Naked Lunch. First book I've ever been 100 pages in and unsure of the plot...

It's been a long time since I read that, or more likely tried to read it, and I don't think there is a "plot" or at least not a plot as most people would know it.

Yes, sadly that is the case, Mervyn Peake died from Parkinson's Disease while the third book was little more than a set of notes. In fact, a total of five books were planned for the series, which was intended to span Titus' life from birth to death.

Titus Alone seems like a total departure from the first two books, not only in terms of the unpolished prose, but also the plot itself. Still worth a read if you really enjoyed the first two though.
