My personal advice is if you want to know the locations and already have a sat nav, rather than having 2 devices go to www.pocketgpsworld.com and subscribe the probably the best database in the UK (far better than tomtom etc).

Sorry someone has to say it first but..........or you could just slow down.

This is a conversation that everyone can debate for a long time... for me I prefer aids that let me keep a complete focus on the road, obstructions, potential obstructions, children, pedestrians etc etc... rather than looking for yellow boxes by the side of the road if I happen to go over 31 mph

Some of the these devices offer a lifetime's membership for a say between £20 & £40 which can make them better value than a £20 per year sub.

How much driving do you do? When I used to drive in mainly known areas to me then this was easy, but on long distance drives in areas you don't know, it is absolutely certain you will speed at one point. Whether this is through ignorance and a mistake or stupidly depends on the person. I feel that these are useful devices if you enjoy having zero points and believe in human error. Slowing down isn't of course always the answer, you can just get caught out by a little mistake. I recently had a 1.1 litre courtesy car and I must admit that it was a lot easier to avoid mistakes of speeding compared with my car, but only because in your average car now you can go from 20 to 40 mph in a few seconds.

Everyone speeds- that's life. I think slow drivers are dangerous.
Anyway, speed cameras dont worry me as you can see them coming- but will this pick up a hand-held speed gun when the pigs are hiding around the corner?
Thats how Ive been caught a few times

The link doesn't take you to the item and I can't find it on the site. :-(

You have to love all the non-drivers who come out with the "slow down" crap, why don't they just sit in the corner with a dunce's cap? The fact is that speed cameras are a money-making scheme designed to catch people out rather than reduce road casualties. If you are actually paying attention to driving conditions rather than watching your speedo all the time not only will you be a safer driver but in a modern car you will almost certainly inadvertantly drift a mile or two over the limit and get caught out.

I personally would spend a bit more and get a cheap Sat Nav and install the Pocketgps database but for those without the technical knowledge avoiding being done just once pays for the unit.

Oh and for you people slamming these devices get off your high horses as everyone breaks the speed limits even if its by accident.
