bargain for someone locally!

It may be in other Asda stores but didnt want to say Asda in general just in case

Fantastic seat, my son has used one of these for about 5 years. It's easy to keep clean, cup holders for those sweet wrappers (save you finding them in your seat pockets). Good side headrests for those little naps & the back slides up for when they grow.

Dam me this is cheap, I just got 2 in my local asda (weymouth) I soooo nearly bought 1 last week for £25 too!
Have some heat n rep!

#6

Brilliant car seat, my six year old loves hers. Ace price for this, HOT from me :).
#9
Thats amazing. I have 2 of these and they are great.
#10
excellent spot.

just picked up the last one on the shelf at Asda Thornaby.
#11
Paid £25 and thought it was a decent price. Already had one for the other nipper but that one is the same model but darker fabric than the ones in ASDA. Shame as the lighter fabric will show the dirt more.
#12
Bargain, thanks, just reserved one for me!!!

Got my for £12.50, although the store did query it, so price may not stay that for long!!!!!
#13
Folks, rang 3 Asda stores, price confirmed as £25.00 ?

I bought this at £25 from asda and its a very good purchase. Bought a few before this and returned them because i didn't like the hard feel to them. But this is better with abit more padding (not much) and i like the fact that you can use just the seat without the backrest. My little one sits in it comfortably throughout a long journey and with the back rest keeps her upper body in place securely. So for £12.50 its a bargain

What a bargain

http://www.channel4.com/4car/news/news-story.jsp?news_id=12382&ref=archive

Consumer association Which? has named 10 child car seats currently on sale as providing inadequate levels of protection to small children in the event of a crash. It says that although the seats meet the minimum EU standards, based on a 30mph collision, they were not effective in any more severe impacts

The ten seats which caused concern are the Mamas & Papas Navetta Carry Cot, Passaggio and Elan, the Britax Cruiser Plus, Ranger and Trio, the Concord Trimax X-Line, Meggy Kombi, Graco Junior Plus and Storchenmuhle Starlight SP. Senior researcher at Which? David Evans said that "in a severe accident, these seats are not protecting your child adequately, and your child could die or be seriously injured as a result. They should be withdrawn. These companies are good players, with good products on offer too. There's no reason to sell unsafe seats. It's irresponsible." Which? has called for the tightening of EU minimum standards.

I would check with Graco whether these are the same seats..........For what its worth we used to have these seats, they are practical and kids liked them but seat is a bit hard for long journeys. When I found out about the Which report we changed them..........

This is the Graco Junior Maxi.
#23
think a lot of the baby event items will be going to 50 % tomorrow, including the high chairs etc. hope this helps someone.
#24
Just been back from Asda.. Although it was priced at £25 on the till, they told me it should have been priced at £12.50 as it is some national baby week or something.. Have 2 of these already already, bought another two for the second car, brilliant value for money
#25
right just got back from Asda in Slough and bought the last red kite trvael cot for £12.50 !!!!!!

also they still have the following:
tommee tippee breast pumps reduced to £10
tommee tippee sangenic nappy bins £5
tommee tippee little plastic drinks cups 75p now
a few stair gates (tatty boxes though) £7.50

playmats for babies £7.50 (i think)

red kite cot bedding £12.50 (only few left on shelf though)

johnsons travel box thingy reduced to £7.50

loads of those hauck buggies i think they are £12.50 but they have such crap reviews i didn't bother.
#26
i didn't see any of those car seats (graco ones) nor the highchairs though, but it was heaving in slough so didn't really go round the store properly apart from the baby event aisle hth

which looks virtually identical, I've seen one of these in the flesh a friend got one at Asda's last baby event, there pretty poorly designed and i certainty wouldn't risk my child's safety with one.

Being cynical, the company could easily have renamed it to avoid the bad publicity (cheaper than changing the moulds etc)...............
£12.50 is a good price but if there is a chance that safety might not be as good as one would expect, I'd want to know about it before its put to the test in real life........

It probably is a different seat but I'd still check with the company first.

In reality a 1 tonne car hitting a plastic toddler seat, isn't going to offer massive protection...

I know Which have a pretty good rep, but I'm sceptical about this report. The Storchenmuhle Starlight SP is exactly the same seat as the Recaro Young Sport (same comapny), but there is no mention of that being unsafe. I wonder why. If I was synical I could say it's because the Recaro costs more.

I know you always want the safest seat for your children when traveling in the car, but this seat seems perfectly OK for a spare or on for infrequent use. At the end of the day the child is secured by the seatbelt, so protection will always be the same from that point of view no matter what the seat. I know side prtoection is an issue, but's lets compare these seats to what was on the market 20 years ago.

I agree with you especially if your car has side curtain airbags that wil give the kids extra protection and Which themselves say any seat is better than none.........

Silly person - why didn't you ask for it at £12-50 as per the nationwide offer ?

Just bagged 3 in Harrogate after tellingh THEM they were on offer at £12-50 as they would'nt accept this price at 1st until they double checked :)
