They also reduced their price to £6 so it is good to get it from them if you don't like free delivery. :)

Not bad at around £6.50. Been wanting to replay these for a while, especially Asylum which for me is still the best in the series. Heated.
It's a decent remaster. I played Arkham Asylum on PS4 about 4 months back and had no issues. Traded it in as CEX were offering about £20. Will grab it again now to play Arkham City.

I have to admit that I agree. It is NOT new if you unseal it and handle it to lock it away. At that point your 'new' game is used.
newish lol, good old Grainger games still opening brand new games to lock the disc away in a locker. Seems very odd why they would not use dummy inlays on the shop floor like the supermarkets do.

How easy is easy-mode? Is it "even a complete baffoon who is clueless with strategy games" easy or "you need to know your stuff" easy? :) I fall in to the first statement by the way but would quite fancy giving it a shot IF it's a cakewalk for your average gamer.

Good for the Xbox One users too.

Scorchio !!!

The Scorchio isent out yet!
Very nice! I knew that it would drop from the £20 at which I bought the game (new), but perhaps not quite this quickly.

On a related point, would anyone happen to have a 10% discount code from a recent purchase that I might be able to use (for a different item)? All being well, I ought to get a code myself that I could send straight back.

£54.99 (base) / £69.99 (Silver Edition) & £89.99 (Gold Edition) on Xbox Store. What sad, sad times we live in. And they mock IAPs for mobile gaming :( It's bad news when we're paying up to £90 for a complete game these days. I remember when the cartridge came out of the case, into the Mega Drive and it just worked. No DLC and no stupid day one updates.

Although we don't agree with the pricing model, I'm personally voting hot. It's only about £9 more than what the base game will be at launch in physical format. Heat from me, mate.

Thanks mate, tbh I wasn't expecting this deal to go hot but I thought it was pretty good considering the other options for this version of the game.

It will be around £40 at launch. The fact you pay up front makes this freezing.

I bought this game with an open mind being a long time fan (7,8,9,10,11,12 etc). I personally found it quite boring and quest/errand based gameplay which felt like an offline version of WoW. This game is not on the same level of previous games and after only owning for a few days, have already sold it. Shame.
FF7 is my fav game ever and I thought this was horrible. Shoe horning ever gaming troupe to come out in the last 10 years into the game. I'm waiting on Dragon Quest and Ni No Kuni 2 for my classic JRPG fix.

7,8,9 and 10 all came out as I was growing up and they are the best of the series in my view. But I tried to like this, it's just wasn't fun.

It's like an mmo with its fetch quests and monster hunts. The story isn't even cohesive either, I didn't have a clue what was happening... apparently you need to watch a movie or something to get the full picture. Terrible.

If you play 7 then this, it's not hard to see the lack of quality gameplay.
I thought this was fantastic. 7 and 9 are my favourite but the story, which should be the most engrossing of any final fantasy game, is really good, something severely lacking of recent ones. Last few hours are great. I would even go as far to say it's my favourite game of last year oO

Tons to do after the main story is finished as well.

Cheers guys, much appreciated. I'll have to look at FF9 and pick this up as well then when they price drops a bit further.

Good deal for anyone who is on the fence about getting into this series. I realise GGXrd Rev 2 is on the way in late Spring but if you get this, then buy the digital upgrade to that it will most likely be cheaper than buying GGXrd Rev 2 as a physical version.

I haven't given Freedom Wars the time - Simply because I never play my Vita. God Eater is awful... another one I bought and wished I didn't.
Personally I thought God Eater was much better than the last Monster Hunter I played, but each to their own.

I need to play it at some point properly. Zelda has all my time at the moment though.

Each to their own indeed :)

Actually enjoyed the first one but got bored of this after a few missions , too repetitive for me and got bored , ended up fast traveling all over , think I'm starting to get too fussy with games these days

For me it was the other way round - found the first one too repetitive.

I did finish this and move onto something else though. Was tempted to do the side missions but thought it would just sit collecting dust. Sold it last week to someone at work for £20

Maybe I liked the first one because I purchased it with my ps4 so it was the only game I had at the time , I just thought there was too much going on at once in this , missions flowing in left right and centre but that's probably just me

Good price for the base game, but you're going to want The Collection pretty quickly. Not sure about PS3, but you can trial the base game up to Level 7 free of charge on Xbox One.
OOS even if there was stock. It would simply be the base game (but still decent price for base game). The DLC codes would of been used.

Its not, its more down to people not reading up on the game and expecting a typical Lego game, and you always get someone selling a game days after release

Cancelled my order.

Hi,

We regret to inform you that due to an unforeseen error with our supplier we have unfortunately cancelled and refunded your order with us.

We are unable to fulfil the order which you have placed. The refund will show back in your account within 3-5 working days depending on your card issuer.

We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused.

Many Thanks

My zavvi pre order still barely beats this! Heat added as this has seen little to no change for this edition.
Careful, if you used a discount code(which I imagine you did for it to be cheap from Zavvi), they may cancel your pre-order the day before release.

They've been known for doing it, they cancelled my Switch Pro Controller pre-order the day before that's released because I used a discount code. I ended up cancelling my Persona 5 CE which was only barely cheaper than other sites at £67 because I just don't trust them not to do the same thing again.

Well here is hoping. I got an email recently saying it's still on its way and I changed my delivery address after emailing them and no warnings for codes..... I did also use a code for disgaea 5 and one other game I forget so I guess I've been lucky so far!

I won't cry if they cancel but I'm surprised there hasn't been a sub 35 standard edition deal yet.

Great! Seems pretty good value for the price. Still not sure if I'll enjoy the game though. I've struggled to get into Persona games unless this one is different. Previous ones have felt like a dull repetitive coridoor grind with really bland environments... Haven't understood the hype. Will this be different?

Well im not sure you will like this one if you didn't like the other ones. That said there are going to be a few tweaks to the dungeons so that they are not randomly generated and are actual set enemies and stuff with stealth mechanics and stuff. Check out some gameplay here

I imagine it'll be the same amazing anime style acting and cliché characters I reckon. I want it but haven't finished enjoying the first one yet
I desperately wanted to enjoy the first game and forced myself to play through the first 15 hours or so but just couldn't put up with the annoying, over the top anime style over acting and the cliché characters. It's a shame because the actual game system and battles are pretty cool... I wonder how different this is

You have removed the most important part of my comment just to quote my claim but ignoring the reason from it! I said they're a good company for buying preowned. I remember that deal and I remember you were not the only one having issue and I remember either myself or someone else was warning people you won't get a new/sealed copy. I insist, they're a good company to buy PREOWNED from. :)

To be clear I didn't intend to appear to be twisting what you had said. Apologies if it came across like that, I just felt that was the most relevant part to quote for talking about their customer service and the rest stopped being relevant to my point.

It's just my view that I wouldn't support them at all as it doesn't matter in the slightest if they're good on preowned, the fact that they are a terrible company in other aspects means in my mind they deserve no support at all and I don't believe that you can pick and choose when it comes to things like that in terms of either being run like a respectable company or half-ar*ing it and only treating one group of customers well.

I understand mate. I respect your point of view. :)

You have removed the most important part of my comment just to quote my claim but ignoring the reason from it! I said they're a good company for buying preowned. They are a good company and good in communication. I did have issue with some of the games I received and it was resolved in a day.

It's great you've had a good experience with them but just to add a contrasting opinion for the potential benefit of others, I wouldn't want to support them again as they were awful with me.

Tried them, wasn't great then gave them a second chance thinking maybe it was just unfortunate the first time and they sent me a "new" copy of a game that was a total mess. (That's not including a time or two in the past where I ordered only to be told later they were actually out of stock and couldn't fulfil the order.) It was the Republique Contraband Edition, the box was ruined and when I questioned them on it in a perfectly nice message to them they told me that their "new" stock was in fact very often ex-display pulled from shops and then after responding to this they basically told me tough sh*t and just tried to wash their hands of the problem.

Hence I avoid them and actively recommend sometimes that other people do to as apparently this isn't even an isolated incident with me, many others seem to get into the same kind of position with them far often than you would expect.

They are shocking ( in my experience ) and well known to often send out second hand games when ordering new product. Never bought anything pre owned with them and wouldn't touch them with a barge pole after my experiences buying new games from them . (Different formats too)
