Good price, shame it is several years late, was supposed to be a PSP launch title, and what, the PSP has been out for like 4 years now!!

Mike..

good price i missed this when i orderded a game yest.

i'd noticed that Argos selling pre orders cheaper than other places even without the code.

I had a posted a deal earlier regarding Final Fantasy Dissidia for £15.99 for anyone interested see post http://hotukdeals.com/item/442410/final-fantasy-dissidia-psp-game-15-

Great price but like the first post says it's about 4 years late!

Does look quite good :-D

For searching purposes probably helpful to fix the typo in the title

ditto, hopefully my save game from GT5 prologue means I get a head start. There's nothing worse than excitedly booting up the game for the first time to find you have to do a braking test in a yaris!

too little too late sony

good price though
#14
4 years late, or 4 years of sweet dev time, meaning we will get a FULL GT game on PSP with a full line up of cars and tracks,

better late and complete than launch game a missing its soul.

This is the reason I bought my psp 4 years ago  Unfortunately I think most people will pirate it, not because it's free but because the load times from UMD will be horrendous.

Bought GT2 for PSX and ripped it to the PSP but can't get into it just feels too old. Never finished GT3, Concept or GT4 either lol but will definitely get this

Just ordered so thanks for the heads up, but do they take payment now or on dispatch?
#16
Not being picky or anything but can the OP correct the title to Gran Turismo PSP, The game should get alot of fame as it's been due for the last 5 Years!. Great Price I would buy it for that but I'm getting the new PSP Go with this

Suggested this on the first page :whistling:

IMO Sony should have rushed this out, ok so it might not have been as good as it will be now but there was no competition, people were going mad over it and it would have really shifted the PSP.

Much larger install base would have been available then for what could have now been a sequel :-D

Cheers.

Just off to google to see if there's a wifi mode, network was sadly missing from GT4 so nearly 5 years on you'd think they might do something

Ignore this I didnt read the OP properly

4 yo vapourware that sold a bunch of systems. I bet the date of Oct slips. It's all different dates on the net.

Sony have completely lost the gaming plot.

In english please? Slang is not really readable in forums too be honest, The date will not slip as it's been confirmed by the Games Creator, It's now up to Sony to Market the product on time and we all know how SCEE do fall behind on release dates, But since the PSP Go and Gran Turismo will be released at the same time I see no reason for there being a delay.

Pretty sure that was said for the release of the first PSP :whistling:

If it does get delayed I'm cancelling and I'll find another way of obtaining it, like I say this was the reason I bought the damned thing 4 years ago.
#27
Its been raised to £22.49!!! I was about to pre-order. :(
#28
No it hasn't. I've just ordered it with the code and it's still £17.99.

You're kidding. UMD loading times are not horrendous, i think you're used to crappy Nintendo DS games like Nintendog. When you play a good game, you expect some loading times and the PSP's loading times are good, even better on the new models 3000 upwards (or may be 2000? upwards i think).

Never had a DS mate so not sure why you're choosing to attack me on those grounds - if you read through my posts on this thread I've been one of the few to stick my head out on the line and pre-order it? If you've ever played something like Smackdown vs. Raw 06 on the PSP you could go and make a cup of tea while you wait for a match to start (it's much better loading from Memory Stick but as that's illegal probably shouldn't mention it). GTA:LCS and VCS are quite slow to load from UMD (never bothered trying to put them on a memory stick because they're so big). I'm sure it's a contributory factor to them moving away from UMD as a format.

I've got the old model 1000 so that is possibly a factor but I imagine that GT:PSP may take a while to set up each race. My PS2 has got a hard drive stuck in the back of it which makes games like SD vs Raw 06 load up instantly, Guitar Hero games are quicker, basically everything is. My 360's got a 120GB drive so everything's ripped to the hard drive to improve loading times. If you've ever played PSP games from a memory stick and then gone back to a UMD you'll certainly notice the difference.

The fact you own a 1000 model will probably be the reason why as they have less RAM in than the newer ones. If you look at a comparison video on youtube of Crisis Core loading times on a 1000 vs a 3000 you'll see what i mean.

Loading times on a 3000 vs a memory card aren't really that different at all.

UMD is a great format and is far from dead. Sony are just giving people more options. I think it'll be a crying shame if UMD goes because it can hold games like Crisis Core which really does blast the DS into the past. The DS could never dream of emulating such a game on it's inferior carts, however, Nintendo stick to what the mainstream gamers fall into.

Of course, hardcore gamers will care more about the formats etc. The majority of people will just want to buy the game which is why i think UMD has alot of life left. You only have to look at the Monster Hunter + Crisis Core sales. I dare not think about GT sales!

Anyway, apologies if you thought i was getting at you - i wasn't meaning to, i just think the UMD format deserves more credit than people give it

Mine arrived yesterday so well done Argos!

You can actually download the game from the UMD onto your memory stick, takes up about 1050mb though so no go with a 1GB stick - although there was a note saying that it will change depending on how big the stick is. Still, i formatted mine and with ~50mb still in use for some reason, there wasn't enough space. Wasn't just the MB Mb conversion either, something was taking up 50mb of the 969mb (or whatever 1gb equals).

Mine arrived yesterday as well - I'd completely forgotten about it so my PSP wasn't sat there charged in readiness... typical... lol
