And so it begins. Cold-voters claiming they can just get a pre-owned normal edition for less than £20 from CEX or something, because "who wants a bit of cardboard and a book for an extra x pounds"....

Urgh.

I dont think this is the signature edition thats why your getting cold votes.

From someone who loves his collectors edition special editions etc. i purchased this for £60 on release. And yes it's crap for the extra money... It's just a book literally that's it! Oh and 5 extra cars you can obtain online anyway.

Now that's actually a collectors edition! Not worth the £120 price tag it had but easily worth the £50. Yes ok it's sold out now but even still

Difference is 20quid? If anybody wants all my extra for 20 quid hell you can have them cause is it just a book and a piece of cardboard!

The way GAME works is in their last few copies of a game, they place it at bargain bin prices. They sell out quickly, obviously, but forever keep the sold-out price online, for example, your link above.

This allows them index highly in price-comparison websites/SEO engines, even though they have no stock.

I remember when that £50 price was briefly available. It quickly went to ultra-hot on HUKD, but it didn't last. Now, this Collectors Edition is the hottest, and one of the last few available. People who think that £50 Signature Edition will somehow be magically available again are dreaming.

I think you need to edit your 1st post the link you've posted is for the signature edition. Shopto isn't selling the signature edition its selling a collectors edition 2 completely different editions of the game.

The link goes to the Collectors Edition, and the OP doesn't say anything about the Signature Edition. Like the link, the OP is completely about the Collectors Edition.

It was your link that brings about the first mention of the Signature Edition.

The apex book is a really nice item, kinda wish it was maybe 6 inches bigger though!

Price isn't amazing (I paid 5 quid more for my signature ed!) but that was ages ago, and this is the best available now so voted hot.

Do you really think the following is worth an extra £20 though?

Gran Turismo 5: Collector's Edition Includes:

Collector's Edition packaging with commemorative slip case

Collector's Edition inlay sleeve art

200+ page drivers/strategy guide

5 x Collector's Edition artcards/postcards

5 x Collector's Edition 'ChromeLine' car pack

Can you? I didn't think you could at the moment, not because PSN is down but because they haven't released any to purchase.

Over-rated if you ask me, I found this quite boring and slow to load. Each to their own though

Having paid £120 for the collectors edition I do feel slightly gutted! At the price not the product!! Still love my signature editon, would buy another if found it for 30-50 quid

But BIG note to self, never buying a game FULL price at launch again!!!!!

You cant obtain these extra cars online , they are only available to people
who have purchased the special edition releases.
or you can buy the codes on fleebay

One of the best collectors. Decent price.

If you are a fan or into cars you will love the extras here. You have 5 exclusive cars and the book is priceless.

Just as an FYI, the version of the game that comes with this has a different barcode from the regular version, and I got £40 cash trading it without the book or cardboard case at Gamestation a couple of weeks ago.

The same goes for the copy of the game that comes with the Signature Edition as well. No idea what the trade prices are now though.

I have the Signature Edition and all of the goodies (including those that you get in this pack) are excellent. Just a shame that the game is so poor online when compared with games like Forza 3 (painful to admit it after waiting so long for this game). If you're the type that loves endless time trials then this is awesome, but competition wise GT5 is really lacking. Voted hot, but I bought my Signature Edition from GAME for 49.98 minus Quidco and points.
