I doubt GT 5 will make it this year.

This is a great price mind, hot, hot, hot.
#2
So I've played the demo from PSN, unlocked all the cars on that one track and then theres this. Prologue is just an extended demo right? When does the full game come out.
#3
Meant to be autumn this year, but dont expect it till 2009
#4
prologue is like the cut down version of gran turismo 5 which will be released on the 26th of september 2008 (according to play.com) but it dont think that is confirmed! that one is £39.99
#5
this a preorder?
#6
yes it's a pre-order it gets released on the 28th of march 2008
#7
PS3 game, for anyone (like me) who didn't instictively know.

I thought gran turismo was exclusive to playstation anyway.
#9
It is.

Voted hot. Very good deal.

I think this just a very big demo if im not mistaken. It has limited cars and tracks. The full game comes out on the 26th of September. As you can see there are two versions.
#11
Guys... this is just an extended demo. It really shouldn't be more than £20 anyway.
#12
Yeah but you can still go online with this and play against people all over the world. There are a good few tracks and cars, apparently more than some other full games.

I'm in two minds myself as I've never really been a GT fan. Can't wait for Burnout this Friday.. problem is I wont be able to play it much as I'm going away to Amsterdam!! (Thanks to this forum and easyjet!)

Voted hot anyway. Great deal.
#13
Sweet deal, picking it up until the whole thing comes out. Just cancelled my preorder with amazon that was £29.99.
#14
Thanks voted hot, tho hopefully Game will have this price soon so i can get more quidco back :)

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue features over 40 stunning cars - including vehicles by Lotus, Mitsubishi, Nissan and Ferrari for you to race on seriously realistic, real-life tracks: including the Eiger Nordwand, the London City Track and Suzuka - all rendered in incredible High Definition graphics. There's also all-new driving physics for the most lifelike driving experience ever and new, improved opponent artificial intelligence for the toughest race challenge yet.

But that's not all - for the first time ever in the history of Gran Turismo, you'll now be able to race online. Up to 16 players will be able to go head-to-head on some of the world's best racetracks on PlayStation Network - all you need to get racing is a broadband connection and PS3. Once you're up and revving, Global Online Rankings and the My Garage homepage feature will leave the world in no doubt as to just who is the best at Gran Turismo.

And then there's the Online Dealership, providing a wealth of information on cars and manufacturers and also Gran Turismo TV - a dedicated online channel available exclusively from PSN and packed with some of the greatest content that Motorsport, car manufacturers and TV has to offer.

I have the full GT5 Prologue Japanese version and i love it. :)

It may not be the biggest game but whats there is so good you will play it alot more than other 'full' games. Online around Daytona never gets old. Eiger is always fun with 16 cars etc. Its addictive.

Definately buying the English version when it comes.

#18
go to playstation online shop and there a demo of the game for free download, its good fun
#19
I got the Japanese version to and it was great - paid £25 from Yesasia(we don't do refunds even if we lose the goods).com a few months ago.

Works with the rumble in the DS3 pad too.
#20
Ordered, thanks!
#21
IMO, this is the price it should be, and I will definitely be pre-ordering.

I wonder if we will see it any cheaper before release?
#22
For those of you that ordered the jap version, are the menus in jap or can you set the language to english?
I nearly ordered this from yesasia before xmas but my guess is that everything is in jap

I assume you're referring to the HP Concept demo?
#24
how to make money by Sony (or polyphony or whoever it may be)...make a game, release half of it and sell it for £20+, 6 months later release the same game along with the other half for £30+
#25
I wouldn't be so quick as to dismiss it as just a demo. 50 cars, 5 tracks, full 16 player online racing outclasses many full-price games out there. I don't think you can really grumble at £18 for that.

+1

if you remember GT2 on PSX it was 2 discs, the 'sim' and 'arcade', well the Prologue is a bit like the arcade version IIRC, certainly worth £17.99 for 6 months use.

i have the japanese version and you cant change the menus to english having a japanese wife helps :)
great game and worth the £15 i paid for it
#28
Nice one, was toying with getting the JDM version but am happy to wait for this :)
#29
Never liked the GT games, perhaps 'game' is the wrong word it's really a simulator, too realistic = no fun.
#30
Nice one - ordered!

Hello :)

You wont get charged until they dispatch the item.
#35
You will be able to download this from the PSN network for a rumoured £14.99 anyway so no need to pre order people.

couldnt disagree more. Most fun racer you can get. Switch to easier handling if needed but its always alot of fun. I play online on Prologue more than COD4 and thats saying something. I think too many racing games focus on non driving/racing aspects and lose out to GT5 on a basic level. all the crashes, blur, style points etc. never are as good as a real race with real cars. GT5P is as close as it gets.

This sounds like a good price to me, it's about double the price if you import it at the moment.
