Great deal, and before any idiots start up about it being a nothing more than a demo it includes roughly 70 cars and a half-dozen tracks, a couple of which feature alternative routes that drastically change their layout, bumping the number of "unique" courses closer to 10, and that's not counting reverse routes, so thats far more content than other full game racing titles.

£9.99 is a bargain.

Good point!! Remember Ridge Racer on PS1? That had only 1 track (+ a couple of variations)!!

nice find. head added and rep

last time i checked it didnt have to be NEW to be classed as a GOOD deal.

It's interesting to note that every 'pre-owned' item I've purchased (online) from Gamestation has actually been brand new, with one even being factory sealed. The format/system has never been a factor in this either, so it's likely you might even be purchasing a brand new copy of GT5 Prologue at this price.

Tis a good game and well worth £9.99

Wouldn't give gamestation a penny though on principle.

Ordered - Many thanks.

"Idiot" chipping in here

*In my opinion* this game is a demo because (afaik) most of the content will make it to GT5 proper (if anyone knows different, please correct me). Size/amount of content is irrelevant.

And before all "non-idiots" kick off at me, the suggestion that GT5 Prologue might be a demo *doesn't* prevent it from being a good game but people should just be aware that they will probably get better value by waiting for the full game.

Having said all that, a tenner to whet the appetite isn't too bad...

Wasn't this FREE on the PS3 network when it was 1st released ?? :?

Just a thought - anyone know if it's possible to transfer the FREE demo's from one PS3 to another via USB hard drive ?

I am not commenting on it being a good deal or not.

No, that was Gran Turismo HD Concept which has a lot less tracks and cars

No, that was Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Demo, which was released in Japan only for a limited time. Yes, in a way it was a demo of a demo. :-D

Edit: And as rogdog pointed out there was GT:HD Concept which was also available here for a limited time, which wasn't related to GT5 in any way.
#18
No it wasn't free, that was Gran Turismo HD, essentially a demo of this game which is supposedly a demo og GT5.

At £9.99 this is fantastic value, will last you a while too and any self respecting GT fan should buy this.

So, what's the deal with this game? Is it held in high regard because of how it plays, because I saw it running in PC World and graphically I thought it looked rubbish!

Well, by your definition EVERY game is a demo of the next version of the game coming out. Makes no sense at all.

I do find it funny that people will rubbish this game no matter what, but will lap up a Wii minigame for £12 - 20 knowing fair well it's shovelware with average reviews at best with only a fraction of the content that GT5P has.

I got the Japanese version 2nd hand for £6.99 BTW, worth looking out for on ebay if you don't mind the Japanese (which doesn't impact on the game play, but then again I do speak Japanese).

No, very few sequels actually include material from the original. I think peoples problem with this game is that it was priced so high to begin with considering there's a vastly extended version of the same game on the way, a tenner is what it's worth, so I've voted hot.

Precisely Rubisco! Also, on the numerous GT5 Prologue threads I've commented on I've always said it was a good game. I haven't rubbished the game...just the apparent naivety of some gamers with comments like:

"You can't pay for a demo..." and
"This game has more content than many other games, it's not a demo..."
Opinions like these miss the point.

Prologue is a component part of a larger game to be released at a future date...therefore it *is* a (very good) demo...in my book anyway.

The classic "I don't understand your point...you must be wrong" argument?

How much of the Half-Life code was in Half-Life 2? About 0%. How much of the Prologue code will be in GT5? I'll guess at around 90%.

No it wasn't free on psn, that was gt hd a prototype to test the waters with what they could do on ps3. GT5 Prologue is like GT4 Prologue, a taster of the full game released about a year before the full version comes out. I bought it for £17.99 new when it came out and its well worth the money, you get 6 tracks (eidger norwand from gt hd, high speed ring, london, fuji, suzuka and daytona) and roughly around 70 cars. Considering the content of most games this is hardly a demo, in fact many racing games have less content than gt5 prologue (dirt for example doesn't have 70 cars and only has about 6 main courses with variants on them). The full gt5 game will likely have somewhere between 200-500 cars and around 20 courses (+ variants), but will not be released in the uk till 2009 and theres no set in stone release date yet.

Its probably in the top 5 exclusive titles for ps3 (along with uncharted, mgs4, warhawk etc) and its between this and forza 2 as to which is the best racing sim.

...LOL. With regards to console games gt 5 prologue has to be in the top 10 for graphical fedelity. Its hard to compare gt5 to bioshock to mgs4 due to contrasting art styles...but its up there. Unless they had it running in SD or something...if not your an idiot :)

GT is not and never has been a sim, and Forza tried but still is nowhere near as good as the proper sims.

Sorry to burst your bubble.
