Why not pay a few quid extra and get the 15th Anniversary Edition?

Word of warning, 13 months later and still features advertised pre-release are not in the game, most notably the much touted upgraded Course Maker.

Agreed. But its a superb game and many new unannounced features have been patched in such as a better club feature than Driveclub. The christmas and New Year update seasionals are superb. Really fun game and it lasts ages. I wish they updated this for PS4!

Beware all the patches if your broadband is not up to snuff.

GT5 was a total pain even the version I have with all the DLC still needs umpteen patches, I suppose the only way around it is to buy a copy of 6 from PSN when its cheap.

I got GT5 when it first came out so I only had one or two little updates, but GT6..........ahhhhh, serves me right for buying a year old game and expecting to play straight away. Update after update, not the speediest....even though I've enough bandwidth to accomodate.
Now PSN goes down ! Back on tonight with another update..........and it still sounds like a Stylophone on steroids.

I agree it's getting annoying and unfortunately the patches and updates happen because of inflexible release dates and budgets. Also the screen tearing and slowdown on GT6, ok not as bad as AC:Brotherhood/Unity, is a bit annoying. The major advantage of consoles is that games should run straight away without problems. Otherwise you're getting some of the drawbacks of PCs, with none of the benefits. :(

On GT6 a nice-ish rant:
To me like GT5 it's disappointing, with some minor improvements.
It may be a bit more realistic than Forza but there's a lack of 'forgiveness' and slip before slide. It's awful to play with a controller, and not good with a wheel.
Tyres feel solid, AI is rubbish, racing is dull and the tuning doesn't work. Tuning is broken and car setups are ridiculous.
All sounds are stuck in the early PS2 era, and the non-premium cars look rubbish with no interior. Also the fictional tracks have no road texture or real bumps.
The slowdown and screen tearing is annoying and the silly, novelty races are silly novelties!
On a controller the throttle isn't linear with a snap from about a third to two thirds throttle. Also the steering isn't linear with less damping and assist than it needs on a controller.
Forza games have a few minor problems and they're less realistic. However they're fun, presented well and they look and sound far better. Plus tuning usually works similarly to a real car. Assetto Corsa is more realistic than both and more fun than GT, despite being developed on a relatively tiny budget.

Compared to GT5 the interiors on the premium cars, the handling (although mid engined cars seem a bit crazy), the loading time and the menus are better. Also if you put up with the slowdown in 1080p, and don't switch to 720p like I did, it looks a bit sharper.

Buy Forza 4/5 or Assetto Corsa instead. :)
