Guns! Cars! More guns! A mobile phone! Grand Theft Auto IV!

Yes, it's the fourth 'proper' instalment in Rockstar's mega super ultra massive mega blockbuster GTA franchise. Do not expect the developers to let up.

Players jump behind numerous sets of wheels as Niko Bellican, an Eastern European immigrant who has come to Liberty City to live the 'American Dream'. Yes, Liberty City has returned. It's New York City for developers who like not getting sued. You'll find Broker (Brooklyn), Algonquin (Manhattan), Bohan (The Bronx - not a Dragon Ball Z character) and Alderney (New Jersey) all present and accounted for.

The action rolls out thanks to your (or, more likely, someone else's) mobile phone as you're doled out missions by various lowlifes. Cars will need to be stolen and people will need to be hurt. 'Nuff said. Of course, this is a GTA game we're talking about, so expect sandbox play galore for your inner anarchist who likes to pick his criminal dealings at random.

Rockstar hasn't forgotten that this is the age of PlayStation Network and Xbox Live, so the game will come with a healthy dollop of online play to get your Eastern European teeth into.

Liberty City needs you! Steal this game if you have to...

This is true. I've completed this game and it gives you a serious amount of gameplay but I did find that it took me a little time to get into the game ... and appreciate its brilliance.

I was thinking the same. My gut feeling is that it will drop to £18 around xmas - perhaps just afterwards.

Still, hot deal though for those who want it now.

Is it pants really though? and why?

I can tell you exactly the problem with Grand Theft Auto IV. It is by no means a bad game, it is just disappointing.

See when you set such a high standard in previous games in the series then I can understand why people got disappointed with the latest release

I enjoyed San Andreas and Vice city much more because they are better games, IV has better graphics but that’s just about it.

No planes? Do I need to say much more?

When playing San Andreas you could go down to your little runway in the desert then take a flight over your crib, bale out and parachute in for a cup of tea :-D

Play it for the first 3 odd hours then it gets repetitive - missions become boring and you just end up spending half the time sniping the public

Who is Nico Bellican?

Who is Nico Bellican?

He has a fat useless stupid brother that you get to hang out with in the game, cool isnt it?

I honestly hope that Saints row 2 puts this game to shame, maybe this is part of the reason for the price drop?

pc world price match anyone?

Thanks for the advice gary_rip

Picked it up on the PS3 with the Pc World price match.
Reserved it through Quidco and got another quid off it.

So, paid £22.50.

Sales assistant in Pc World couldnt believe the price! Said he was off to Gamestation himself to pick one up.

Bargain! Very Happy :-D
