its a decent game when you get it going however you will spend more time trying to get it working that playing the actual game. Its like rockstar had a team of 200 people working on xbox and ps3 and then a couple of people porting it to pc

The game is very good on PC, it's not hard to max this out on a half decent PC and get it running at the magic 60fps on ultra settings. Terrible PC port? hmm actually I'd say that's a fair comment that is 2 years out of date since it works fantastically well on a half decent PC now, at release sure it was quite bad for frame rate issues and the like, but even on day one it played better than any of the console versions do. Most of the problems with the port are due to the game engine not the gameplay etc... well known issues such as the lack of 64bit support, lack of beyond 2gb ram, and lack of multi-core support... a lot of that has been sorted through patches and tweaks by the community.
Ultimately though I bought mine for £4.99 on Steam summer sale last year, GTA4 collection (includes Gay tony and Lost and damned) and with potential steam sale only a week away... well £6 is a bit high, although the PC version is beyond any doubt the BEST version of GTA4.
