Next cheapest I can see is £7 at CEX

Five years ago Carl Johnson escaped from the pressures of life in Los Santos, San Andreas...a city tearing itself apart with gang trouble, drugs and corruption. Where filmstars and millionaires do their best to avoid the dealers and gangbangers.

Completely agree. Although there's rumours swirling that GTA V will be set in San Andreas, and possible rumours that a GTA: San Andreas Stories might launch for the NGP/PS3. Even if they're new games with new storylines, I'll take them if it means I get to run amok in Los Santos again :D

Really hope these rumours are somehow true, don't think I've ever had anywhere near as much fun on any other game than SA. Absolutely love this game but shame I don't have a PS2 to play it on and my PS3 60gb is dead :(

Amazingly diverse game on a slightly underpowered system. I wish games were as imaginative and awesome these days. GTA4 by comparison is a total boring mess.
#5
Well GTA 4 was set in liberty city (GTA3) So lets hope they follow the path of Vice city next and then SA.

Heat added btw, the best of the bunch imo.
#6
The latest GTA was rubbish compared to this and Vice City. Very rubbish...

Bought this of Xobx live a couple of months ago and only just completed it again last week! loved it, better than all my next gen games. I think the problem with GTA IV was that it was set in one place, San Andreas is huuuuuuuge. Also so much more could be done on multiplayer opting to do the vigliante missions against real players etc

a great game, i got 100 % completion on this, took me absolutely ages, i preferred vice city myself, just because we first got helicopters and motorbikes, both games are stunners

Arguably the best game of the modern era. I've probably spent 100s of hours on this game. Even when I did get the 100%, I still played it because it had THE best soundtrack of any game ever. Just steal a nice car and drive around the map occasionally stopping to blow someones head clean off. Or go play Black Jack. Thought GTA IV was poor by comparison. Just could not get into the game or relate to Nico, was glad when I finished it tbh. Vice city was also very good, had that Miami Vice vibe going on.

Top top game. I would advise though if you have a PC to get it on that platform (it'll play on pretty much any relatively new relatively decent computer) - the reason being that they squeezed a lot out of the detailing on the PS2, but even then it can be a bit of an eye strain to look at things like the small map etc. The PC version is usually very very cheap too.

Highly recommended, good story, great attitude. I found GTIV a bit too worthy in places - san andreas was miles better in my op.

Quality game. Love it.

Vice City is also £1.99 fwiw.

Haha just been playing this game then just saw this post! Playing it on PC, never completed it yet (at 34% now)

Quality game, has an "old skool" feel about it

Best GTA ever.

This is a great game, still got my copy. :)

I thought Scarface was a good game as well, similiar gameplay to San Andreas.

Platinum edition is £3.99 preowned for some reason.

You're a saint, thank you. ;)

Should be fun playing this again, definitely the best GTA of the series.

What I really want is proper HD remakes of the PS2 Trilogy and running at a constant 30FPS at least. That would be awesome, especially with zero pop-up and no extra loading! <3

Have picked this up for 50p numerous times at car boot sales.

Just a couple of quid for THE best GTA....hot!

"jetpack" - enough said!!

PC version mate... running at 1920x1200. Load times are minimal compared to PS2 version, running smooth too. And if you don't like PC controls... Get an Xbox 360 Controller and plug graphics card into TV or buy a PS2 Style controller for PC - they do exist. Then you virtually have your console version but improved. (PC version had higher quality graphics and sound - due to hardware limitations of the PS2)
#27
Or you can get the Xbox version and put in your Xbox 360 which also has better sound and graphics than the PS2 version.

I think after playing GTAIV and the Episodes and now on RDR, this game is just too dated for me to pick up and play now.

San Andreas I love this game still have it on my PS2 from when I originally got it back in 2004. I ended up buying it again for the XBOX last year from Cash Generator for 99p and it had two copies of the game inside the normal release and the classics re-release. I still think San Andreas is better then GTAIV the map in San Andreas is fun unlike Liberty City which is pretty bland and boring.
