Grand Theft Auto V will take full advantage of the power of PC with across-the-board graphical and technical improvements to deliver a stunning new level of detail. Increased draw distances, finer texture details, denser traffic, and enhanced resolutions all work together to bring new life to the cities, towns, deserts and oceans of Rockstar North’s epic reimagining of Southern California.

Switch between the interconnected lives of Michael, Trevor and Franklin as they embark on a series of heists across Los Santos and Blaine County in the biggest, deepest and richest open world experience yet, with game world enhancements that include new wildlife, upgraded weather and damage effects, and an array of new details to discover.

The upgrades also extend to Grand Theft Auto Online, an ever-evolving Grand Theft Auto universe. Rise through the criminal ranks by banding together to complete Jobs for cash, purchase properties, vehicles and character upgrades, compete in traditional competitive modes, or create your own content to play and share with the Grand Theft Auto community.

All new content and gameplay created since the launch of Grand Theft Auto Online, including an extensive array of new Jobs, an arsenal of new weapons, scores of new vehicles, new properties and player customizations will also be available for PC with much more to come. In addition, the current community of players will have the ability to transfer their Grand Theft Auto Online characters and progression to their choice of PlayStation 4, Xbox One or PC.

Grand Theft Auto V for PC will also feature a video editor designed for advanced movie-making.

I really want this game but then I really want a bargain...will wait a short while after its release.

anyone know if disc will need to be in drive in order to play it? Or if just used as an install + code to activate? Would prefer the latter, as it's cheaper than digital, and I have only got portable cd drive which is flakey after being dropped plenty times

It'll be a crappy console port like other recent releases guaranteed

That clearly explains why its the last version to be released then. (_;)

Not to mention the fact that the current gen consoles are nothing more then a poor mans pc.

Hopefully not! Delays would have been pointless otherwise...

Cool, didn't know the consoles ran 4K resolution. @ OP, great price! Value for money really is with computer games.

well an answer would've been better :)

I have no need normally to have a dvd drive in my full tower, instead it has x-case 3-in-1 hotswap bays allowing me to stick up to 20 drives in there....much better use of space than a cd drive......some games activate from disc onto Steam, some don't

They are restricting some games on the pc so they don't show up the consoles, like limiting the fps, I hope they keep this game so you can run what you like and how much you like, I'll wait for the reviews and you can get it cheaper from online cd key shops,

Because limiting the FPS is SO hard to undo ;)

I agree the guy should have just answered your question as its a genuine question, but seriously, 20 drives?! I don't think I'm the only one here thinking that's a glorious waste of space, i mean each to their own and everything but I can't think of any possible use for 20 drives in one case. Would hate to see the cable management in a PC with 20 drives.
In answer to your question I would anticipate that this would be a disc plus digital key situation.

thanks. On checking the GTA forums it seems nothing has been announced yet about how the physical version will work....hopefully its a key then can do whatever want.....daft how the physical version ends up being cheaper tho :)

only a dozen are in use, but there's the option there lol...It was originally a glorified cheap nas server homebuild (fraction of the price compared to prebuilt options), then thought soddit, stuck an i7 in and a beefy gfx card :) Cabling isn't too bad, SAS controllers, and a couple of power molex feeds per 4 drives

Basically inspired by this thread

If you can play it DVD free then I will by it, but my DVD drive is now a hard drive in a caddy :(

I'd be confident it would be able to activate on Steam. Only thing is it'll be 5+ DVDs since it purported to be around the 55GB mark.

It IS just a driving game ay it? All this gaming machismo, I just want to plug, play & throw away!

I'm not so sure - apparently none of previous R* games have done so. I don't really care if it on dvds or not, and if it activates, on steam or whatever so can then choose to dl it instead.....just want the game the cheapest possible way (not counting piracy ofc :) ), but would suck if disc needs to be present to play every time, and would then prob have to go and buy another portable drive when this tempermental one finally keels over

People tend to forget digital uses up your hard drive. If you go with the CD it has a re-sale value and saves you alot of hard drive space.

It's been a while but could you not rip the DVD ISO and then mount that as a virtual drive on your machine if it did need disc activation?

I suspect copy protection on the disc would prevent me from doing that

Errrrr the physical disc will use the same hard drive space - it will all be a mandatory install

lol i've never bought a pc disc for a long time as i just wait for steam sales, but i was considering it for this game thinking the game would be on the disc pre installed

1. DVD, not CD.
2. PC games install the entire thing to your computer. As do PS4 and Xbox One games now.
3. PC games can't be resold.

If it lowers to £20 I'll snap it up straight away.
