Great for Fathers Day!

I was just WANDERING through Asda (not something i do regularly) and I noticed these and thought it was a brilliant Bargain so obviously I got them for my Dad.

I've heard Grants Whisky is a pretty good make and my Dad loves Toblerone so this is brilliant and both of them for ONLY £10, cant go wrong.

Brilliant if you ask me and I am pleased to post my second thread lol.

Don't want to rain on your parade but Grant's whisky is a pretty average blended whisky.

Still a good deal though.
Hope the wife see's this thread so she can do the honours from our son.:-D
Heat and rep.
great will get this for the father in law
How does Grants compare to Bells?
Don't drink them neat :roll:

Pretty similar quality but purely a matter of taste, but it's your dad get him a nice bottle of single malt.
Trouble with single malt is you need to put tons of coke in it to get rid of the taste

Now lets see how many bite.

I prefer to snort the coke THEN drink the malt!:roll:

Only kidding, just say 'NO'
not 'no' to the single malt, say 'yes' to a single malt!
If you don't know the certain single malt someone prefers (they vary so much) then stick to giving them a nice blended. I always make sure I leave a small amount of my Dalwhinnie malt in the bottle and left somewhere prominent near fathers day, my birthday or xmas. My family normally get the message. But if they don't or can't afford it then a bottle of grants and a toblerone will be fine...
Asda also have 1l Grants for £14, although the chocolate deal is a better one!
great find, many thanks
It's normally more than £13 for the whisky alone ......... hot
You were 'wandering', not 'wondering'.

I didn't claim to be helping.

You were assuming.

Well Bells is like old fashioned creosote while Grants is more like Ronseal 5 Year Woodstain. I wouldn't recommend drinking either of them.

If you want to get your father a nice Whisky for a decent price Waitroise has a Dalwhinnie 15 year old single malt in the region of £18. Dalwhinnie Whiskys tend to be quite smooth and very palatable, even neat. I already purchased one for my Dad. I will be helping him drink it.
You were 'wandering', not 'wondering'.

When i first wrote the post I put Wandering but then i thought it looked wrong lol so i changed it to Wondering which i now realise to be totally wrong lol.

Well noticed anyway.
I like single malt, well some of them, but it is a waste to use it as a mixer. Bells and the like are just fine for whisky and ginger wine or the like...
No sign of this deal in Asda Huyton,just standard 70cl bottles for £13.83 sat right next to 1 litre bottles for £14.00,I don't expect the standard bottles to be selling out soon somehow.
It's on their website [well, scotland postcode inserted]:

* £13.83
* (£19.76 per 1lt)
* Grants Scotch whisky
* (70cl)
Valid to 23/06/2009
Nice it is valid next week for those of us that forget....
sounds good
Bought this yesterday, the deal wasn't advertised in store but scanned at £10
