do these work with ipod touches

Looking at the reviews, seems it works with 1st gen touch but not 2nd. I've ordered one (touch 1G) so can report back when it arrives.

I have the iPod touch 1st Gen - and yes this works. I am not on the latest software revision which was recently release - I think I am on 2.2.

But overall I am not very impressed with it.

I've got one of these for a 1st get ipod touch (which doesn't have in-built speakers), very impressed with it for the price

also, did have picture of white one when ordered, but black one turned up, much better.

I got one last time they were £2.99 and these do work with ipod Classics and Touch 2nd gen but are not fantastic for music. Perfect for the Harry Potter audio books though

There's really very little 'eco' about these things assuming you would otherwise be using rechargable batteries.

Q4T.

But you can't go wrong with iPod speakers for £2.99.

i got one of these, Cannot complain! Sure it doesn't look that great, buts its given my 1st Gen Ipod touch (3.0) new life & multimedia capabilities! I use it to catch up on eastenders in my bed -and i have it play the super mario brothers "power-up" sound effect when i get new mail!
Voted hot!

-oh yea i can hear and wake up to the alarms now!:-D

Not bad for £3, bought one for my 1st Gen iPod Touch and it does the job, could be more steps in the volume (ones too quiet, the next is too loud), and its starting ratteling now and not always connecting, and I think the volume has started going up and down on its own, this is after about 3 or 4 weeks. But I think thats because it just slung in my bag and not treated all that well lol.

"Eco Friendly" lol, why don't they claim "organic" as well.:giggle:

IMHO you're better off spending (albeit considerably) more money to get a high quality product such as http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/448833/xmi-x-mini-ii-mini-speaker-2nd-gen-/ rather than accumulating many of these cheap, low quality bits of rubbish as I have in the past. Just my opinion but a good deal I suppose if you want something very cheap and are not worried about build or audio quality. :)

Depends what you want it for, I just want mine so my son can play games with audio on car journeys. For that, the better quality speaker is too messy, need something that just clips on.

So there's a place for most kinds of products, different people have different needs :)

I have a Touch 1G but with the new 3G firmware. I know one of my AV cables stopped working after the upgrade so I assume it will be the same with this?

Exactly. Mine arrived today - for the missus's Touch 1G. Literally just want to hear the music/beeps/noise when playing the odd game. Not planning to provide perfect reproduction of an Orchestra with these.
