Hmmmm. I took mine out last wek and got 200 mins and 200 texts for £10. Not happy.

Will ring them and threaten to cancel, especially as they cocked up my number port from 3!

What's the cool off period with new contracts?

Nice tariff, shame I am not with Virgin media though :(

i'm not sure of the canc period, i think it's 60 days.....

they should upgrade you, especially if you kick off.

30 days cancel period.
I just took one out for my mother yesterday. The 'offer' is ALWAYS on but you just have to ask for it otherwise u wont get the virgin media special price!!

I canceled mine and have gone to the O2 simplicity 20 quid deal cos mms works on that and its got double mins more than triple texts and free web access...

Voted hot tho for low end mobile users!! :)

Im amazed with Virgin, I was on CPW Virgin cashback deal, came to the end of the 6 month contract period, cancelled the contract and nobody made a single offer to stay with the network, had my PAC within 5 minutes, baffles me that they let customers walk out of the door with no effort to retain exisiting customers.
#6
Speaking of cashback, most of these SIM only deals have Quidco now... Come on Virgin. Pull yer finger out!

I've had 300 + 300 for £10 for about 6 months now, it's OK if you're not wanting a brand new upgrade every year as it wont happen. But for a bargain tarrif, it's well good.

I had this some time ago and it was good so got one for my partner (she's still on it)

A word of warning for those folk with fancy fones, data rates are thru the roof on virgin and I got stung with I e mental bill (after setting my fone ip for email)

Steev

Ps still a great deal ;)

im in central scotland and on virgin currently - the reception i get is **** ! and cant wait for my 6month contract to end so i can get back on O2

Do they check you are a Virgin Media customer and have an account when you phone.

I was told they ask for a Virgin Media account number? can I bluff it if I make up an account number? would anyone be good enough to give an example of the account number format i.e. 88554433 so I can make one up
#11
Probably not.... they will more than likely ask to confirm your name and address. My account # btw has 9 numbers. But I've had this for years since the old Telwest then Blueyonder days. Min starts 0222*****

You dont need to be a media customer (if your canny), as I saw on another forum on hotukdeals. Just say you saw the offer on the internet and will only take it up if they offer it. Its called the vigin 10 top up tariff I think. You may get transferred to India or somewhere not sure but its not done in thenormal call center from what I could tell as I had to be transferred.

You can still order phones etc as well. I got SE W880 recondioned for £65 which is OK

I'm in the same boat. Notice is definitely 30 days. I've e-mailed them to ask if I have to cancel and re-apply for the 300 / 300, or if they can just switch as goodwill.

I can sort of predict the answer, but we'll see eh? :whistling:

I am on it, my monthly bill is on 10th, and if I call and cancel by the 17th, that is it cancelled, and I have that in writing when I took the contract

My experience is th opposite. I'd also read about trying to get away without a Virgin Media account but they specifically told me it wasn't possible to get this unless I was a VM customer :(

In the end it was a good thing becuase I went for the o2 Simplicity deal instead with 600 mins / 1000 texts / free unlimited internet / £23 Quidco ... all for a measly £20 p/m :-D

This is in effect a PAYG bundle so only a month by month contract, but no new phones etc.
I know that reception is pretty patchy further North apart from larger towns, but have got this for me and the wife and the bill is normally £20 or so unless we start sending pics messages etc.

If you call no free numbers though they have just increased the min call charge to 15p.
#17
In a way you do get "free" upgrades with this package as Virgin Mobile offer a reward scheme called Red where they give you a £10 discount for every £100 spent on top up and bills towards the purchase of a new phone up to a maximum discount value of £100.

Their phones are a bit over priced though but I've just built up a £90 discount and used it towards a new K770i which I paid a grand total of £14 for!

Have been on this deal for 8 months. It used to be 300 300 with a roll-over for 1 month if you did not use all the minutes or txts but they have stopped this. This is a good deal though. Heat added

Im on that same tariff now they way i see it I have complete freedom to cancel if I wanted also the money I save from not been tied into a contract I could put towards a new phone typical phone bill is £30 a month * 12 = £360 i know what id rather be doing :)
#20
It sounds like a good deal at a good price, thats if you don't go over the mins/texts. Heat added :-) xx

I already had a thread on this.

http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/217723/virgin-sim-only-10-contract-300-min/

It should be unexpired.

I've just had a call from Virgin, they've changed my 200 / 200 deal to 300 / 300.

Which is nice.
#23
Hi,

I work for virgin mobile and you can cancel with 30 days notive that deal is not a contract so if you call up the should change it over for you

Ok so im a virgin Media customer allready, which means A) I can get the deal and B) Im used to dealing with Virgins customer service.....

I went online and ordered and filled out all the forms and got a error message at the end... called them, they completed the order, waited for SIM no delivery, week emailed and they have no record of my order.... So I re-apply and they have problem with my address as not on their database (even though Ive got the same address for V.media) :? So they will have to speak to some other dept and call me back next day... two days later, no call back... So I call them again, still being processed... Im still waiting a week an a half later... emailed them again... but Im told in reply to call them, so will do tommorow... all in all spent about 45mins on the phone ordering and still nothing, even though my address is the same as my V.Media.... Nightmare ordering, maybe its just me.... Hot Deal for sure, as long as you dont get too hot under the collar ordering.....
