Get personal cover free for partner. Much cheaper than getting two cars covered. I put my wife's car details in (the newer of our two cars) and then added me as "partner" and got 2 x recovery plus for 86 quid (vs 140 something for covering the cars). Don't forget quidco.

PERSONAL COVER

At Green Flag, we believe in providing cover tailored to your needs. That's why you can cover your vehicle or take out personal cover for any vehicle you're travelling in within the UK. We don't just have competitive prices, we're also giving away two for one on personal cover - so you can add your spouse or partner free!

How much!

I'm just coming up to my renewal but for the exact same thing last year, personal cover for me and got personal cover for my wife free - that only cost £36 - before I vote cold is there anything I missed?

Can't you get RAC/AA via Quidco etc and pay much less?

Just wondering if I add my other half does that mean she is covered on her own car, just like if she bought the cover separately herself? or is there some limitation?

Both of our cars are due for renew!

The way it worked for me for £36 was I had to give a reg number - which I gave my car as it was newer. I thought it a bit strange to give a reg number for personal cover but they said they needed to base the price on something.

I got three cards through the post,

one personal card which covered me to drive any car
one personal card which covered my wife in any car
one car only car which covered anyone driving my car

If you got all that with Recovery Plus then it's bargain of the year, not mention £35 cashback through Quidco. You sure it was only £36 ?

The quotes depend on what car you have - the newer the car the lower the amount. Obviously the quote also depends on what cover you want.... I went for the top notch cover (not including abroad - as I won't be going there....!)

Our newest car is 5 years old.... £86 for both of us
When I put in my 10 year old car.... £108 for the two...

I had recovery plus, but no extras like abroad etc, I did make sure it covered us when towing a caravan (but I think that was standard)

I initially tried with my wifes car which was 7 years old as that's the one we tow the caravan with, and the price was more like £80ish, but then when I realised the cover was the same whatever car you put down I changed it to mine which at the time was 6 months old and then it dropped to £36. Renewal is due soon so will see how much they want this time.

It's a good deal but the price is specific to you based on your car so nobody else will get that price

Guess they don't expect a 6 month old car to breakdown. So, whats stopping you if you only want one car covered, to enter the main car as a 'made up' brand new car, then adding your own car as a second one....Could be a cheap way of cover for one car !
