The GameBoy Micro in green or blue is just £17.99 before delivery at DVD.Co.UK [thanks for the pointer findprice] Buy through QuidCO to earn 2% in cashback or use the direct link opposite to go straight to the deals...

Details: Game Boy Micro measures a mere 4 inches wide, 2 inches tall and 0.7 inches deep, allowing it to sit comfortably alongside todays hippest technological gadgets. It weighs an astonishing 2.8 ounces, or about the weight of 80 paper clips. Yet Game Boy Micro has the same processing power and plays the same games as Game Boy Advance SP models, complete with standard face controls and gleaming shoulder and Start/Select buttons that literally shine.

With Game Boy Micro, everyone plays with style. A removable face plate gives owners the option to buy replacements to customize the look of their systems again and again with new colours and designs. Most notably, its 2-inch backlit screen shines with incredible power, rendering games in startling clarity with fantastic colours on the best Game Boy screen ever. For the first time, users can adjust the brightness of the screen to adapt to indoor lights or outdoor sunshine.

Great price.
#3
excellent deal :)
#4
is this different than game boy advance?
#5
Not really, just it's more portable, interchangeable faceplates and a brighter screen. Though the GameBoy Advance SP has recently inherited a brighter screen.
#6
Voted hot and bought one too.
#7
This is an insane bargain, I was going to get a second-hand one for around £30 as well.

Voted hot. Many thanks :]

Haha, yeah, it's confusing.

Vs the Game Boy Advance the Micro is: physically much smaller; has a backlit and much clearer, brighter screen (it is smaller yet still shows better detail); has a built-in rechargeable li-ion battery; will not play original game Boy/Colour games as the cartridges don't fit!

Vs the SP the Micro is: physically much smaller and has a smaller screen through the quality is very similar. I think the SP will play older game Boy/Colour games, can anyone confirm? Both have a built-in rechargeable battery.

Basically, if you are looking to buy an SP/Micro and prefer to have something tiny and pocket-sized and have no old game Boy/Colour games to play then get the Micro over the SP. I'm sure the Micro is much cheaper too.

If you have an original GBA then I'd recommend upgrading to the Micro, again if you don't have GB/Colour games, for the improvement in screen quality, backlight and more portable size.

Out of all of them all though, I find the original GBA the most comfortable to hold. I actually find the Micro more comfortable to hold the the square SP. I had a game Boy advance with afterburners (after-market screen back-lights) and it's probably the most comfortable to hold so was a good trade-off.

SP Vs Micro

GBA vs Micro

if you've never seen the Micro in real life you'll be amazed by its size :)

Amazing price man - i bought mine a few months back for like £30 and i thoguht i got a bargain then

Tbh im 18 and have like normal size hands and its not small at all i dnt squint at the screen its perfect if you ask me -- but i wouldnt suggest to anybody dnt remove the faceplate ever as i did that and it took me about 3 hours to get dust out

If you shop at cex quite a lot you could get a exchange price of £26 or £20 cash

wasnt the gameboy being sold cheap at comet a few weeks back?
#13
Ah.... must ... resist ... buying ... another ... toy ...
#14
Yeah, i think it was around £12 at Comet, but this is still a good deal. I find that although i love my PSP and DS, they arent very pocket friendly, especially the PSP. Even worse when ive got my PDA, Wallet, Keys, Walkman etc.. so good deal, tempted!
#15
Many thanks OP, bought one to add to my ever growing gadget collection!

Heat and Rep added :)

my little four year old boy is addicted to his sister nintendo ds so i have been looking for something cheap for him to play with, do u think this is suitable for him or too small, advice would be appreciated guys!

thanks
#21
My son got his GBA when he was 4... I think the micro would be fine for your son to play and at this price you don't have to worry so much about it getting dropped/broken.

I would think this is far more suitable than the DS for your 4 year old. My 4 year old loves playing my micro.

Just noticed they are awaiting stock. These have been out of production for a while so I hope they have a good supplier with some stock - already been let down by another retailer. :-(

Here's hoping! :)
