Just got this deal on full cover excluding European cover, RAC renewal price was £112.00 and they wouldn't budge on the price despite not having used their services over the two years I have been with them. They also don't seem that bothered about retaining existing customers. Green flag offered all the same for half the price at £56.00. So just letting you guys know this deal is still on and v hot!

i thought this post was about getting the cheapest roadshide assistance deal...
i'm guessing the prices talked about on here are for basic cover? usually take roadside plus travels to destination options, so don't know about the lower end of these insrances. but a couple of alternatives:
the best breakdown cover (bundled so not the cheapest) i have found is via my nationwide account... 10.00 per month for a current account that also gives free mobile phone insurance, world travel ins, extra one year warranty of electricals and full roadside assistance for the whole family for10.00 per month...
autoaid will give full cover, inc. home start, cover for caravan, spouse etc. for 41.00 but it's a pay and claim back company. i would say that, if you do motorway travelling, the basic roadside cover just isn't sufficient. for peace of mind, go up a notch and get the guarantee of tow home to your house or own garage.
just trying to point out that there are many other offers out there and being given a notional half-price offer is good, in principle, but doesn't nec. beat the other companies out there... (but, you're right, at the moment, there are no green flag cashbacks but i have myself had a major cashback deal from quidco from them, so they do come around).
it gets more complicated the more you investigate but there's nothing more miserable than getting a flat on the motorway and being towed to an anonymous garage or being late for work and knowing you can get it sorted only if you get a friend to tow it the minimum distance from home to satisfy the conditions. in the end, it's all about peace of mind and the lowest option doesn't nec. offer that
hope this helps someone...
The deal is across the board not just for basic cover, look i posted this to help the community please stop the negativity.
not sure why you think i'm being negative? i've suggested some other options, is all. don't take it personally when someone throws in alternatives, especially when they vote your post hot at the same time.
I'm not taking it personally , i did start to wonder whether the negativity was related to a deal you posted yourself for AA cover which went slightly pear shaped.http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/aa-roadside-relay-homestart-plus-free-home-emergency-response-with-50-00-off-via-1132427

you're investing waaay too much time investigating my past merely to call me on a comment.
Great deal. Signed up to recovery plus costing me £33. Heat!

Can this be used with quidco or topcashback?
It might work if you use Quidco/TCB to load their own Greenflag link first (set a tracking cookie) and then use the link in this deal to complete the order in another tab.
I've tried my luck with TCB (forgot to check quidco, as its a better rate :( ) but it can take 3 months to appear/get paid.

Don't use greenflag on a cashback site because they mostly get declined so you end up paying full price. They never give a reason when it is declined either
Not sure why this deal is expired as the offer is still on and it's a cracker. My 10 year old Touran came in at £86 but with a free MOT and £40 cashback my breakdown cover is essentially free!!!
Try getting it for £60. The deal says From £60, my quote came in at £84 for my car which is used less than 5k miles/yr, used twice at weekends and is 6 yrs old.

Not really a deal in my opinion even with a free MOT....I personally wouldn't waste my time having my car mot'd at Halfords even for free. They are renowned for failing your car for the slightest thing so they can perform costly repairs. I've had first hand experience of this. Also just look at reviews on the Internet.
Still waiting for my cashback from months ago....never again.

These guys are worth a look at AutoAid. May not suit all as they are a pay and claim recovery. But it's £39 for a year for you and your spouse for recovery and home.

Been using them for years! They're the dogs!

They pay out each time without fuss.

was going to say the same an excellent company, and they do personal cover instead of covering one car so you can be a passenger in a car and still get recovered, beats other companies hands down in my opinion as their recovery is by a local garage so I've never had to wait too long. I'm always recommending these guys to people as the service you get is excellent.

Tempted but the post in this thread about cashback have put me off. But thanks to the many posters suggesting alternatives I'd not heard of. Very helpful!
Is this just for married people or can it be any other person? Great price regardless of cashback
Damn, wish I'd stuck with Start Rescue. Always got tcb cashback from them and cost half the price for similar cover. Tcb is still showing confirmed but at £0.00 instead of £40.40. If I don't get Green Flag cashback won't be renewing. (Probably wouldn't have anyway thinking about it :p).
I have always used Quidco and done so for many years and always got my cashback from them but it does take a while. Just make sure it tracks and if not cancel it and take it out again providing you purchase it a few weeks before it starts.

Don't forget it is Quidco or Topcashback that pays you not Green Flag. They get the commission and then pass it on to you.
It does state in the T&C's do not contact the merchant as they will be unaware.
Still waiting for my cash back. Topcashback should stop trading with them. Crooks.

There are better deals through moneysupermarket for breakdown insurance.

Really? Must check.. am looking for one... Thanks....
Didn't do the Greenflag one, but did do RAC cover through Quidco. Total spent £125.00, took 3 months but got the promised £50.00 cashback last week. So total spend came down to £75.00 for two people (people, not vehicles) for their full monty package. So cashback should work although not had much to do with TCB. Good price only if cashback works. I had recovery plus, but no extras like abroad etc, I did make sure it covered us when towing a caravan (but I think that was standard)

I initially tried with my wifes car which was 7 years old as that's the one we tow the caravan with, and the price was more like £80ish, but then when I realised the cover was the same whatever car you put down I changed it to mine which at the time was 6 months old and then it dropped to £36. Renewal is due soon so will see how much they want this time.

It's a good deal but the price is specific to you based on your car so nobody else will get that price

Guess they don't expect a 6 month old car to breakdown. So, whats stopping you if you only want one car covered, to enter the main car as a 'made up' brand new car, then adding your own car as a second one....Could be a cheap way of cover for one car !

The quotes depend on what car you have - the newer the car the lower the amount. Obviously the quote also depends on what cover you want.... I went for the top notch cover (not including abroad - as I won't be going there....!)

Our newest car is 5 years old.... £86 for both of us
When I put in my 10 year old car.... £108 for the two...

The way it worked for me for £36 was I had to give a reg number - which I gave my car as it was newer. I thought it a bit strange to give a reg number for personal cover but they said they needed to base the price on something.I got three cards through the post, one personal card which covered me to drive any car
one personal card which covered my wife in any car
one car only car which covered anyone driving my car

If you got all that with Recovery Plus then it's bargain of the year, not mention £35 cashback through Quidco. You sure it was only £36 ?
hot deal if this does work if th other half can also get covered for the same thing for free

Green flag are one of the best though.

They are the only company who Hire mechanics.

Everyone else just hires mechanicly minded people.

Also

In the AAs T&C they dont do accident recovery. only breakdown.

So with this in mind im on the green flag while the cost is reasonable.

Thats good

although i dont understand the point in this i always prefer the option to be able to recover your car back to your home.

Is this option available?

I had the basic cover, broke down and they towed me to the garage, turns out to be the same garage that had the greenflag franchise, the garage didn't have the part so they asked me to go to a hotel until monday (this was Saturday Morning) I made a bit of a fuss and they put the car on a transporter and with me in the cab hey took me home.:-D
Terms & conditions:
"You agree to accept that the policy will be automatically renewed each year on the payment details you provided upon purchasing, unless you ask us to cancel it for you."

I presume they want you on Credit card, for automatic renewal, so make sure you cancel renewal in good time!
My car is 5 years old and i get a free servicing but took out green flag for £73 less quidco.
RAC wanted £214 and i had been with them for 3 years and never used them once.

Never tracked for me. I signed up a couple of weeks ago and i would not of signed to them if it was not for the quidco as others are cheaper without it. Sorry to bump this thread but i want to know if anyone actually got theirs. This has been on going on for the while and they are still on quidco. Its so annoying.

The RAC were pulled from Quidco when about 90 billion of us all signed up for the £29.99 cover with £20/£21 cashback.
