Was tempted by this but the reviews of the bluray are not very good. Not sure if this is hot or cold...

I couldn't imagine this being a particularly great looking film and the review on Play seems to support that.

Not all movies really need to be released on BD, just those which stand to benefit from it.

First Ghostbusters gets a shoddy Blu Ray release, and now this.

When done properly (Close Encounters, The Untouchables), Blu Ray releases of classics can (and do!) look fantastic.

Vote with your wallets. If the companies are putting sod all effort into these releases then don't buy them.

This is my pet hate of the moment, publishers releasing inferior blu-rays to be able to release a new and improved one in a few years time. A blu-ray should be the best possible transfer possible imo, it should be a guarantee of quality.

DVDBeaver.com is handy to see examples of blu V's DVD screens. Helps me decide on a disc.

Totally agree, Close Encounters and Blade Runner are 2 of the best transfers i have seen, on the other hand I just watched Gladiator and found that poor

Enter the Dragon looks like it was just made last year too!

Blade Runner looked incredible, I have only seen Close Encounters on Sky HD but if that was anything to go by then the BD should look superb.

Review here: http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/2339/gremlins.html

Quote from review (for the lazy folk)

"So is this transfer going to blow you away? Probably not. Does it still look the best its probably ever looked? Yes indeed. If you love this film, you'll appreciate its singular look and won't be hung up that it doesn't resemble a Pixar movie."

Best 8 quid I'll probably spend this Christmas. Thanks OP. :santa:

Was going to buy this but the reviews have put me off a bit, will wait until it goes cheaper :p
