Loud and clear

The Griffin AirCurve will turn your Apple iPhone into a portable music system.

More energy efficient and stylish than a traditional speaker, this cool cube amplifies the sound of an internal iPhone speaker by around 10 decibels, making your mobile great for parties or an alarm clock.

The AirCurve wont use up a lot of power and drain your iPhone. It doesn't need a plug, adapter or battery to run just pop your handset into the slot to start amplifying it.

Listen to podcasts and music without earphones or feed a docking cable through the device and connect the cable to your computer or power adapter to sync or charge it while you listen.

If you want to pump up the volume and take your tunes to a wider audience the Griffin AirCurve sounds like a great idea.

Picked up one when CPW had them on offer in Nov. Frankly I don't think it does that much for the volume but it is a great looking bedside stand and makes overnight recharging that much simpler and neater. Hot.
#7
Thanks have picked up one to replace my bedside alarm clock.
Does anyone know where I can pick up the Griffin usb cable as I've read that works best with it?
#8
I use the standard Apple cable that came with my iPhone. Any late-model USB cable should work (the ones where the iPhone connector is not so deep.)
#9
hi guys does any one know if this will this fit the 2G version thanks.
#10
It will work with all versions and i have one and paid alot more than that i can say but well worth it.
#11
Do the people who have one of these find the phone fits with the case on? I have a incipio case which is really thin, but on a lot of stands I find I have to remove all casing first.

As you said , as a matter of FACT I would say it's a complete waste of the £7.99 I paid last week at CPW. And dont get me started on trying to return it for a refund, they go on as if it;s not one of theirs and it is sooooo good(Idon't think so).
My touch was brought a few months ago from the states and I have heard the US ones have a better speaker , but this waste of plastic can't even improve on the built in speaker :x
Your better off cutting a hole in the end of a cup and using that for amplification(Fact)
#13
Not sure if it's quite the same model, but there's a cheaper one at Amazon:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Griffin-Aircurve-6261-AIRCRVC-Accoustic-Amplifier/dp/B001I9023M/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1264179523&sr=8-1

Mixed reviews for it on there...

If you looked at the box before you bought it you would have seen these are just for iPhones not Ipod Touchs. iPhones have a speaker on the bottom which this amplifies.
Don't knock a good product without all the information, you'll only end up making yourself look silly!

Great find, just ordered a couple!
#19
Humbled
CPW still crap though
#20
Read the reviews. They say it's basically a horn mechanism which amplifies the sound. Rather off-putting as it doesn't seem a high-tech speaker. Good post nevertheless for those who want a eco-friendly and great value sound solution for the iPhone.
#21
A great trick is to put your iPhone into a pint glass, gives the same effect, amplifies the sound. looks a bit noddy though!

Doesn't fit with a case NEITHER does Tomtom car kit (Tomtom wouldn't give a refund and do not accept European distance selling laws).

To be honest, I bought two and have given them as gifts becuase the sound difference is marginal and the charging is your own cable shoved up its back - so COLD
#25
I bought one last nvember but now I don't use it very often as the incipio case does not fit in.
#26
I have one and apart from being a smart looking stand it is pretty poor and I wouldn't recommend.
#27
this any good?

Need to try and get an extra bit of battery for a long flight i have next week that will involve using a lot of battery on my 3GS watching films

Er yes thanks I get it now as mentioned at 5pm. :geek:
Still eating pie.:-D:giggle:
Thing is I asked the sales person????? if it would work with the touch and she said yes! If she is selling the products and don't know why should I have all this grief getting a refund:?:

Because you bought it from Carphone Warehouse - everyone has a story to tell about that company!

Got one of these last time they were posted on here before xmas. I found them really good, really improved the depth of the sound, i find it ideal for having next to my bed, so makes my alarm clock really loud, and great for listening to music in bed, and a good dock for the overnight charge.
#32
I would rather buy one of these than the Apple dock which is £19.
Even if you only use it for charging still half the price.

there is a delivery charge for the Amazon one.

I ordered one... Not that impressed to be honest! Its ok but I wouldnt recommend. Makes it sound fractionally louder - But not much! Waste of brass to be honest (This was on the 2g version)
3g version - isnt too bad to be honest.. much better than the 2g
#35
I was looking for a desktop cradle for my 3GS and bought this instead since it was cheaper.

I think it's OK, not bad at all.
Excellent build quality, and it does improve the sound quite a bit IMO.

It's lot bigger than I thought though!

Thanks OP, heat & rep left ;)
