These are great as a stand and give your volume a nice little boost, obviously not as good as a powered dock but worth £10.
Here's a link to my video of them in action : http://www.firebox.com/video/2167

Fantastically simple concept, and a good price for this!

And the batteries never run out! =P

Or, use your hand! Does exactly the same thing, but fully portable, and free!
#11
im confused, what are these exactly, is it basically just a charger stand?

Yeah just need a charger for it (plug and lead) it then goes under the unit.

apparently it amplifies the sound and can charge the device.

Think it looks more like a paperweight :w00t:

My dad bought one of these. Its not that bad but sounds echoey so i wouldn't recommend. Don't think he uses it tbh.

They are pretty good to be honest. It's essentially a plastic base, acoustically designed to naturally amplify the iPhones output.

You use the existing iPhone charger lead, which clips into a special clip in the dock, which means you drop your iphone in and it charges it.

Deffo worth a tenner.

I bought one of these a few weeks ago from Tescos. Watch out as my iPhone didn't fit in the dock with a case on. I have heard a new dock is coming that will take an iPod/iPhone with a case on.

Sounds like the same import I got :?

saw two of these in tesco at gallions reach

This thing is pretty pointless in my view, it makes very little difference to what is already a poor speaker.
£10 for a piece of useless plastic.
#24
Just bought two at Chorley, still four or five left.

Heat added

Only works with iPhone as the iPod touch doesn't have a speaker at the bottom of the unit.

These were about 7.99 from carphone warehouse a few weeks ago. Handy as a spare/second dock.

I bought one of these from Tesco at £10 a few weeks ago and took it back. The sound is horrible. Louder, possibly, but 100 times worse. Imagine if your music became a robot, and that robot tried to rape you in the ear. That's roughly what these sound like with music. It makes a pretty dock, and it makes your alarm tone more shrill, but that's it. I'd avoid this like the plague.
