I found this product to be extremely unreliable. Safer to use a normal room thermometer.

Had one of these for our baby, to be honest we thought it was a bit of a waste of time, it doesn't take long before you know whats too hot or cold for your baby and as speculator says a normal room thermometer would be more reliable.

but voted hot as its al about the deal!

Works quite well as a night light, it's not too bright, just a gentle glow.
But the temperature readings are useless, it’s usually a few degrees out.

I found the opposite from the above comments, this thermometer is fab! I've used it since my baby was born, he's always slept perfectly, never too hot or too cold thanks to this item! I've used it in the winter in the UK and the summer in Spain and it has never let me down or left me guessing what to dress my son in for bed. Works great as a night light too for finding his dummy during the night without wakening him up!

Here are over 100 more reviews (mostly bad) from Amazon!

Well, we probably shouldn't rely on the bad reviews. What did the good reviews say? Were they mostly critical?

If you are inferring that the reviews were mostly negative/critical of the product, I find that hard to believe since the average rating is 3.7. That means there have been more 4 or 5 star reviews than 1, 2 or even 3 (neutral) star reviews combined. Fair enough to have your view on a product, but misleading potential purchasers with incorrect assessments of general public opinion is not really appropriate. Unless, as I said, you were merely describing the reviews as bad, which, while not misleading, is entirely irrelevant.

See this link for a more detailed view of the above link. Average rating is only 2.7 and not 3.7 as you stated.

That's the older version though isn't it?

Regardless of reviews I think it is a good deal. Plus don't forget there are loads of reviews on different websites not just amazon. I am looking forward to getting mine and testing it out! :)

As Benjimoron said, you've got the incorrect link. The link in OP's post is for a different item, is it not? In fact, the link you posted even directs you to the new Gro-egg - the one as posted... Or do you use the same review regardless of the version?
