Product Description
Manufacturer's Description
An upgraded version of the original Gro-bag Egg, the Gro-egg is an ingenious colour changing digital room thermometer. There’s so much to think about with a new baby, and keeping an eye on room temperature is an important part of safe sleep. The Gro-egg uses colour as a great way to show the approximate room temperature. As the temperature rises or falls, the Gro-egg changes colour, from blue through yellow to red, as a handy reminder to adjust the environment. If the temperature is outside the recommended guidelines, you'll know at a glance that it's time to adapt the baby's bedding, change their clothing or alter the room temperature. The award-winning design makes the Gro-egg probably the best looking thermometer ever hatched. Please note, the Gro-egg is designed to glow in darker conditions, so in light rooms please use the digital permanently back-lit LCD screen. A safe sleep guide is also enclosed with every purchase of the Gro-egg.
Box Contains
1 x Gro-egg
1 x Safe sleep guide

I bought one for my sister when she was expecting my nephew and she uses it all the time - especially if staying away from home. If you are a little nervous about using the right bedding then these are great as they are so easy to use.

And how do you know that the Tomy one was accurate?

All of these room monitors are pretty hokey - just buy a wall thermometer, with proper numbers!

*** GET FOR £11.50 AT MOTHERCARE ***

Mothercare price match anyone including online companies such as Amazon. This includes Amazon Marketplace.

They will price match base price less postage. So if £11.50 plus postage, Mothercare will charge £11.50

All they need is a screen print or the item on your screen. I purchased something else from them after showing the item on my iPhone screen :-)

Give it a go!!

The one I bought is celcius, can't say if this one is but they aren't all farenheit!

Also it is really dim, which is great, subtle glow in the dark, so when changes colour doesn't attract too much attention!

We got one for out little man... and it was brilliant.

Though when comparing it to other thermometers we had it did seem not ot be very accurate by 1 degree or so.

But ... we still used it to gauge the temp and adjust his bedding and heating accordingly.

(either way... it lookc bloody cool!!)

I bought mine from Amazon and it's in Celsius.

Amazon dropped again a few pence from £13.25 - now marginally cheaper to £13.14

I would rather save myself a tenner and be less lazy - reading two numbers in dim light is hardly the end of the world. This seems terrifically over engineered, and terrifically over priced to match. These are poor-quality ``approximate'' thermometers with LED's and even if they weren't a contender for a baby-show freebie they are still completely unnecessary and for everyone who has had a baby in the last 6,000 years it certainly should go without saying this is not a hot (UK) deal.

Cold.

I found this completely inaccurate and a total waste of money! Poundland simple one was much more accurate

We have one, it looks cool but I think the major design flaw is the mahoosive "plug" which inserts into the back of the device, meaning it can't go flush up against anything. I think this may even be the actual temp sensor as when you touch this part the temperature rockets!
