Then discovered that Pentagon Direct have them all in stock, at a good price, with free delivery.

Grow all sorts - from Wild Strawberries to Peanuts!

Ideal Xmas presents, gonna pick up a few myself.

Edit - now cheaper using the 10% off voucher - XMAS10

Anyone tried any of these? They have some interesting plants to choose from...

i'd be interested to hear feedback too. I can imagine some of them (Olives, peanuts etc) require a lot more care than these might let on.

Cold from me. Some of them are really difficult to grow from seed (eg venus fly trap), others such as tomatoes are much cheaper to buy if you just get a regular pack of seeds, and a small bag of compost. Even the more exotics can be had cheaper (without the bulky packaging) by buying packs of seeds at Thompson and Morgan, or a similar seed seller.

looks like QD stores are East Anglia only. D'oh.

Sorry, sounds like a good idea, but you can buy a lot of the seeds for a lot less at a garden centre, who will also offer plenty of advice on how to grow them.

Venus fly traps are a nightmare from seed - you can pick them up for a few pounds, slthough young children tend to kill them by tricking them into closing.

Cold from me too

They are not meant to be a serious item, a stocking filler for novelty value, count it as a bonus if any of these things grow. I have bought my ex a coffee bean (seed) because he likes coffee and would look on it as a challenge. Not voted.

For me, £9 for a bit of fancy packaging containing something that is not going to grow is not much of a novelty.

Just discovered a 10% off code for this place too, which i have posted in Vouchers.
