if it's a Grundig you'll be needing that warranty.

That's a good price for a lcd including a DVD, as I'm trying for find a bargain lcd at the minute but no costco's anywhere near me. :(

I still have a 14" supercolor Grundig TV from 1982 sitting in the spare room looking ugly, and still working.

Sadly the Grundig of today really has nothing to do with the real Grundig of a few years ago, bar the name. I believe the brand is a "front end" for Beko / Alba now.

But if it has a 5 year warranty at least you're covered for a reasonable amount of time. Voted hot.

Not totally true. While Grundig (and Roadstar) are both Alba Group brands, they do still exist separately, doing their own thing. Both Grundig and Roadstar were bought for Alba plc to gain quick and easy access into their respective markets (Germany/Switzerland).

Beko has nothing to do with Alba plc whatsoever.

Anyone else got one of these? Any feedback?
#9
Yeah feedback would be good as I am after a TV/DVD.

I recently bought one of the Technika ones from Tesco (19" LCD/DVD with Freeview etc for £179.99) for the kids and although the picture was fine I had problems with the tuning, the first TV I bought last friday wouldn't tune so i took it back and got a replacement but when i had the second one do the same thing I took that back and have decided that i would rather pay a little extra for something thats a bit more user friendly!!! On the plus side I ended up accumulating around 540 Clubcard points :-D

Not strictly relevant to the Grundig thread but I went to Costco the other day to buy something that they were offering in the "coupon book" but it was out of stock. When this has happened in the past, ie. item being out of stock, a Costco rep has signed my coupon and told me that they would honour the price when I next returned and this has always been the case. In fact last year they had run out of Panasonic 32in TVs which they couldn't source anymore and they did me a cracking deal on a Sony 32in. But this time my attention was drawn to the conditions on the back of the coupon which says "Items subject to availability" and they refused to sign my coupon. My only option would have been to come back the next day, in the hope that it might have been in stock again, which I refused to do.
Has this happened to anyone else?

Have seen on some sites that this tv can play DIVX, if true this is a really hot deal.
#13
Also - anyone know if it is wall mountable? I assume it is, but just wanted to confirm.
#14
Just got back with mine looks pretty good definately plays divx files, has four screw holes to mount on wall. Only problem is it is not multi-region and i cant find a way to make it. Thus i have my nicce new all in one with my tatty old region free dvd player underneath.

To make region free-
1/ switch to dvd with no dvd in.
2/ press 9735.
3/ go to region set up.
4/ choose 0 for region free.

I have tried to follow the instructions above, by jonilaai, but I am not finding the correct screens. Press 9735 and nothing happens. I am on the blank opening Grundig screen, "no disc" showing.

My grundig GU 22dvd was working fine for several years, then suddenly stopped reading region 1.

I cannot reset it.

Please any help.
