This is a 2005 model, and technology does fly........
#3
I bought an MP3 player from them about 6-9 months ago. No problems dealing with them for me. A few things have been posted in the past, I'm not aware of any problems from others either.
#4
I think these are made in same factory as Beko, as Beko bought Grundig.

I would guess from an email?

If you subscribe to special offers you often get deals via email that normal customers will not find, and that applies to many online stores.

It must be OUT OF STOCK, as there is no button to add this to basket, and which is why there is no link to this TV.

If you go to other TV's you can add to basket.

EXPIRED BEFORE IT STARTED, I think.

as for being a bit "dodgy" please see the offers that have been posted before on here. Alba are a big company they not only own Alba they also own Goodmans,Bush and Grundig

Yes it works.

https://www.grundig-uk.co.uk/stockreminder.aspx?pid=AMIRA32HD&language=en-GB

It's a secure page and with Vista and IE7 I had to click YES on a popup that requested if I wanted to view secure items.

Maybe you need to check your security settings?

Sign up email link doesn't work for me neither, get asp errors.

Doesn't exactly instill confidence in buying :(

For those having trouble signing up, try this...

If you are having trouble using sites that include mixed content, you might want to temporarily have Internet Explorer allow all mixed content. To do this, follow these steps:

To allow mixed content
Click to open Internet Explorer.

Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.

Click the Security tab, and then click the Custom level button.

In the Security Settings dialog box, scroll to the Display mixed content setting in the Miscellaneous section, and then click Enable.

Click OK in the Security Settings dialog box, click Yes to confirm that you want to make the change, and then click OK to exit Internet Options.

Note
After allowing mixed content, you will see webpages with both HTTPS and non-HTTPS content but Internet Explorer will not show the lock icon.

For £249 I don't think this is a bad offer - maybe not the best - but certainly not as bad as some seem to think.

I am happy with my Argos Beko 32inch, and this will be similar, as it's made in the same factory.

Beko/Grundig used Samsung and LG-Philips panels on some of it's TV's.
Obviously not the same panels as used in the top Samsung/Philips TV's.

Still trying to recover from musthave100 debacle so think Ill pass on this one but still hot deal

I know that people are still recovering from the Beko scam but let me point out that Alba are a big multinational company who have been trading for 50 years they are not a 1 man band operating out of a bedroom.

#31
Eh, you can just spend an extra £20 to get a freeview box surely?

No freeview...a bummer for me.

As said in previous post any Freeview box will connect to this or any other TV with a SCART socket.

All the current Freeview IDTV's are not HD anyway, but in 2009 you will be able to buy a HD Freeview box.

Freeview will be transformed into a High Definition television platform by Christmas 2009.

The plan will bring a nine-hour peak-time BBC high definition channel, plus one from ITV and Channel 4 to every home in the United Kingdom, with another from five in 2012.

You will neeed a new DVB-T2 Freeview receiver available from late 2009.

Existing Freeview boxes will still receive Freeview DVB-T broadcasts, but obviously not the HD channels.
#33
someone says it's a '2005' model...no intergrated freeview tells me it's a much earlier model than that.

You can buy TV's made this year without Freeview built in.

The current Hannsprees don't have Freeview, as an example.

In my opinion it's better to choose your own Freeview receiver than be stuck with what is built in.
#35
Not going to risk ordering until Guv posts the photos of the ones he has received :)

Does this TV have component input for use with an Xbox 360 ?.

If you stuck a Hummy 9200t with this tv you'd have a decent system for £400, I have aSamsung LCD and I never use the freeview tuner in it only the Hummys

:whistling:

We have a Sony 28" CRT that's at least 5 yrs old with a Digital Receiver built in and it gets all current channels.

I emailed them and got this response...
"I am afraid we have no stock of this item nor will we be getting any further stock. This model was a clearance item once sold that’s it I’m afraid"
