It's not bike lube, it's just general purpose thin penetrant/lubricant the same as WD40 but a different brand.

Good price though.

It's much better than WD40, I use GT85 for all sorts of things and picked up several tins from Aldi recently. Plus WD40 is NOT a lubricant.

I can't figure out what you could use this for on a bike. It's not suitable to lubricate the chain with. It eats through seals in levers on hydraulic brakes.

GT85 leaves behind a film of pfte which standard WD40 doesnt have in it. Its ok as a bike chain lubricant, but only in the summer and if you apply it before every ride. No subtitute for a proper chain lube though. Its ideal for freeing up stiff parts like the linkages in the front & rear mech, and keeping cables moving. Dont use it on bearings or near seals though.

I have some at home, but I might buy this just for little straw it comes with, they always seem to disappear. And that goes for WD40 too :-)
#18
Better off with 3in1 oil as a cheap chain lube if you don't want the expense of other stuff.
GT85 still better to have about than WD40 though. Heat

Sorry, but I beg to differ, use it on all my bikes, including time trial and cyclo cross, its a great, light dry lube that fails to attract dust like other oils....

Still available in our Aldi - but at £2.99 still.

ok, so by reading this thread I have been educated in the following way :

A Sherman called hank who happened to have a tank went to Aldi to buy some GT85 to allow it to be lubricated and penetrated and help with the stiffness

After years of trying every lube under the sun, I can't find anything as good as Rock n Roll Extreme lube. However, when I bought some off eBay and had it delivered to work, it caused an embarrassing situation with my colleague who thought I was having another sort of lube delivered to the office- seriously.

Also really good as a cheap 'back to black' for use on plastics...

Heat

better off with some lithium grease
