*This has Hydraulic Disc Brakes so do not get this confused with the mechanical disc brakes bike if/when voting cold*
A very impressive spec (in comments) bike for the price (imo) however not a bike expert!
A good (pro's would call entry level) mountain bike, wish i got this instead of paying £500 for a GT aggressor.

The GT Avalanche 3.0 Disc Hydro 2010 Mountain Bike features a GT Triple Triangle design 6061 aluminium frame, SR Suntour XCM forks and Tektro Aigura comp hydraulic, dual piston, cold forged disk brakes.

isn't the Avalanche 3.0 the same as Aggressor XC 3 at halfords, although halfords looks like an older model.

Actually i think you are right, the aggressor is exclusive to halfords and the avalanche is the version for everyone else- to be honest though. However the one you linked to is the 2009 version whereas this one is the 2010 version and in my opinion a better looking bike ;)

I have the mechanical disc brake version of this bike, I love it.
Watch out for the stock pedals though, they are tiny and were really painful to use, swapped them for the Wellgo ones I had on my old bike after the first ride.

good tyres, i wouldn't say the spec was especially good though, quite heavy too.. i'd rather have a lighter frame rigid bike with vbrakes at this price, then you can upgrade bits later..
#7
Carrera Vengance i would probably buy this instead there are frame sizes instock and the overall spec is better
#8
yep, above is much better spec and probably similar weight because GT are lying

I was in Halfords yesterday and they had a couple of vengeance ultimates for 319, very impressive spec including shamano hydrolic brakes and rock shox tora forks , I didn't post cos of very limited stock but a very nice bike for the price if you can find one
