Megamans are longer and so look awful in many fittings.

Anyone any ideas on what to replace GU10's with, i go through about 8 a month so switched to LED's...they are so dull i can't see my hand in front of me face :)

IS there any difference in quality with the brands of these lights, or are they all the same but by different companies. These sound like a bargain, where I work they're around £3 each.

Buy them if you need them! HOT

I agree,
The megaman gu10 are a good replacement, they range upto 11 watt and have a good light and upto 15000 hour life.
The length of the bulb is linked to the wattage ,the 11 watt is 20mm longer than a standard gu10. Most recess fittings will accommodate this . If you are in doubt take out exsisting bulb and measure depth with ruler are tape.
They will save you a mint in time and money, and cause a lot less heat damage to your wiring and fittings:thumbsup:

99p stores also carry 2 for 99p, had 5 installed for 3 months now with none blown. Seem like pretty good quality.

i bought some cheap unbranded ones and when i switched light on a few weeks ago one out of the three exploded.fortunately i wear specs but i was hit with tiny bits of glass.

these cheap ones are ok but i wouldnt recommend them
i work in an electrical wholesalers and we buy them for 20p each and knock em out 2 for £1 and we get comebacks a lot but you get what you pay for , if you go for a branded lamp like Osram , Sylvania or Crompton them expect to pay around £2 a lamp
Megamans are our most popular sellers its just trying to convince people to shell out £6 a lamp
best place to get megamans is thru electrical wholesalers
i work for a company called CEF ( city electrical factors ) worth trying in there for a quality lamp , also try a brand called Kosnic or Edison for your low energy GU10 needs

Biggest mistake I ever made was fitting these GU10 lights througout the whole house ! For starters they suck electricity and your forever replacing bulbs, like the other chap about 8 a month ! What a rip off these GU10's are (not the deal just in general)....Hmm exploding GU10 :whistling: That's just dangerous dude !

Thinking about changing the whole lighting in the house, probably cheaper then forever buying these bulbs ! Even the good ones dont last long...

Whats the most powerfull LEDS you can get in GU10 form?

i am all for a bargain but will not buy these cheap bulbs as cheap bulbs in the past have exploded with hot glass showering onto the kids beds i also have a slight scorch mark in the laminate floor. use cheap bulbs at your own risk
