CFL or LED?

Good price if it's LED. I'm guessing it is as a CFL bargin is10-20p for an 8watt.

Definitely not led.

Gone are the days of 1p and 10p CFL's from Tesco. New legislation forbids Energy Co. subbing these lamps to hit lower CO2 figures.

Thanks for the heads up, For £1.25 I will give them a try

Unbelievable price for an LED. Best price I've seen for GU10 LEDs was in the newsletter from Saverstore this week, where they had 6W non dimmables from around £9.50 and if I recall correctly, dimmables from £11.50. I haven't done a hard price search recently but last time I looked at LEDs (round about Christmas) they generally seemed to be £30+, more for dimmables.

same price online too

NOTE that the pack states not for enclosed fittings like ceilings although I have had 6 of these in my ceiling fro 2 years (bought at around the same price)

Brought 8 for my hallway bit slow to reach full brightness and a lot dimmer than the 35watt halogen but big energy saving. dont think I will put in any other rooms as I would need to replace the dimmer switches.

cant say I notice any difference between these and equivalent halogens after a few minutes

15% of the running costs aside ;)

Not LED if they take a few minutes to get to full brightness

Thanks for the thread. I went to Tescos Shettleston Glasgow today and looked in their basket of clearance bulbs and managed to find two of these bulbs at £1.25 each. Don't know why the packaging is different. same specs.

Happy with the brightness. Need to get to another Tesco now to look for 16 more of these :)
