Well worth a go. My premium has just come in at £380, so a £38 saving will be handy! Have some heat.

Surely nobody pays what they are asked on their renewal. Insurance companies take the p..s with renewal quotes.

Not with me. I went to all the comparison websites and took literally a whole day going through all the ones that aren't on the comparison websites and my renewal was over £100 cheaper than anywhere else.

LOL - Can't offer me a quotation!!!

Bet they'll call me though...good job I put a fake number in then.

B*stards

I bet you have to be 45 years old, driving a 1.1 fiesta, they may think about giving you a quote then.

If you're referring to First Direct just give them a call. They wanted some silly amount to insure me at 23 but still pricematched my old insurer. Oddly enough, my First Direct renewal price was £100 cheaper than the cheapest quote I could find elsewhere too.

I used to think this as well but last year I couldn't get anyone close to my renewal price.

My partner and I have a dual car policy with Admiral which saved us a fortune when we first switched over and surprisingly the renewal after the first year was in the same ballpark as what we paid when we switched over to them.

It's due again in April so will wait and see what we get this year, not sure if First Direct will honour this offer on multicar policies?

I will. I fit all the criteria but drive a jap import...I bet this is excluded for some odd reason.

"We'll also beat any written renewals from the current insurer for second or subsequent cars in your household by at least 15%*."

I think for the first time ever this year my renewal was actually cheaper than I could get via any of the comparison sites so was going to take advantage of this (known about it for years), however when I phoned my existing insurer they matched the price given by first direct - so was less hassle for me.

Worth trying if your renewal is the cheapest you can find.

I'm 45 & drive a Volvo - FD insured me quick enough. Actually signed up to them last week, the whole application process for me has been totally painless.

PS You'll be an old fart soon enough ... trust me on that one !

Weirdly this is exactly the same case with me - I really hunt around for a cheaper price than my renewal but there was nothing that touched my renewal even taking into account cashback and suchlike. Actually a bit gutted I couldn't save money this year!! Maybe insurance companies are actually realising they should give us the best price so we actually stay with them!

True you can't hold back the years, but you don't have to drive a Volvo! ;)

Nice one. Used this on my renewal and my original insurers have reduced their quote from £380 to £338!

lucky you
thanks for this i safe some ££

Got my renewal in today, risen from £480 ish to £770!!!!

Even if they will beat the £770 by 15% for a multicar policy it is still a rise of well over £150.

Gonna have to shop around I think.

IN reply to why i am leaving More Than...
I was hit by a third party who admitted liability but becuase it was business insurance for multiple cars (he was a dealer) the vehicle did nt show up on the database so more than would not provide a hire car or recover my excess. Found it impossible to get any information from the call centre staff. Only time they contacted me was to get me to sign up to a personal injury claim Complained got a holding letter but they never followed it up.

The problem i find is trying to get not a cheap policy but one with good service, esp. i want to if i need a repair use the car manufacturers garage, not the insurance companies, car is still under warranty.

Aviva you have an extra £200 excess
sainsbury the same
Morethan only can use their repairers,
John Lewis charge you extra if they can repair it cheaper.

Anyone have any experience with M&S insurance

Can't offer me a quote. No doubt they'll be a phone call on Monday. Thanks OP, might be useful. My premium has gone from £540 to £670 with the cheapest insurers and that's just in the last three days. Was £350 a couple of years ago and 540 with Admiral last year - now they want £680 renewal. Direct line, tesco's etc all want £1000+

Car has decreased in value in last few years, I've added NCB, it is now in secure private gated drive with cctv coverage, I've increased voluntary excess from 250 to 500, I've researched the cheapest job descriptions I can use and the poxy BMWs 318 is three times the price to insure than my ktm 950 super enduro - something definitely more likely to kill me whilst bouncing off several expensive cars...I'm a little bit miffed at the moment.

you should never pay for your renewal staright away or accept the offer from any comparison sites online ,i always phone them direct and tell them youve been quoted better elsewhere, you can always get at least £50-100 knocked off
