I've played both the BWE#1, Stress Test and BWE#2 and the prices of the Gems vs Gold isn't really going to be the same as release but you get an idea. If I remember correctly it was 1 silver for 8 Gems and 800 Gems cost around 1 Gold I can't remember the silver amount.
There is nothing to compete with, they are different games. That's like comparing Hitman to Assassin's Creed.

Or comparing the latest MMO flagship from the biggest company in this genre, to NCSoft a Korean based software developer who can't seem to make a good game.
Just as well NCsoft aren't developing Guild Wars 2 isn't it?
You'll find an american company called Arena net are the developers..
NCSoft are the publishers of Guild Wars 2. ArenaNet are the developers. If you actually took the time to watch videos and gather information on Guild Wars 2 you would realise that it breaks from the mold of traditional MMORPGs. ArenaNet have said multiple times that they are not trying to compete with WoW they are catering to a different type of player, one which does not like Gear treadmills or the holy trinity just to name a few.
I have played WoW since 2006 and while I enjoyed my time with World of Warcraft, I can safely say that I had tenfold the amount of fun in the two Beta Weekend Events with Guild Wars 2 than the couple of years I played on WoW.

That may be so, but it's what I'm comparing for a large time consideration of my future gaming. GW2 will be around the £30 mark soon, rarely do games keep above it - Starcraft 2 is the only one I can think of.
