£54.95 in my hmv :santa:

Is this best price out there atm?

Yup - Bought it Saturday...

I actually said to the guy "Why is this so cheap - weekend offer?" - he replied "I dont really know. There is no end date for this price".

Other formats also cheap:

360 for 59.99
PS2 for 39.99

Enjoy!

That would make it £53. £2 saving not bad but can be some hassle getting them to match it / finding stock...

Also - get an HMV game card to collect points for future discounts :)

Maybe they are discounting it because its broken!!! THe soundtrack currently only blares out in mono. pretty shocking for a game thats all about the music :( Hopefully they will release a software patch? ALthough most people have been saying it will be some kind of recall.... :(

Yeah it's the truth, the wii version uses mono sound files and there's no way to fix it either.

I think I'll probably get it for the PS3.

Dont think that is entirely correct- I raised a ticket with activision, and they are aware of the problem and currently investigating it - so at least sofar - they havent ruled out a fix.

I read elsewhere that the bug is that it is missing the sound menu to switch from mono-stereo-dpII and defaults to mono in its absence.

This I can confirm as correct after extensive research. In the options menu the sound button has been omitted and as such defaults to mono. The annoying thing is that its only the option thats missing you think it would be an easy fix. But then again it does raise the question as to how much testing this game has been through to have that omitted. I was considering the wii version due to the sloppyness shown in the early versions of the Guitar Hero 2 controller for the xbox 360 which I had and it broke 2 of my xbox's.

I'm the same. I wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't read about it on various forums, and now I know it still doesn't detract from my enjoyment of the game. Although I should add that I got it for £32.99 from Amazon, which obviously helps placate me.

They're BSing you unfortunately, the truth is that the tracks were downsampled for some reason during production and the sound files in the retail version ended up being mono ones, in order to fix it they would need to completely restructure the game disc and then recall the copies which have already been sold.
