I can't imagine why its a 12, guess theres possibly the odd swear word in lyrics?? Or is it because of the stage dancers?? Either way, sure its fine assuming hes big enough to hold the guitar and reach the buttons.

According to the back of the box, GH3 gets BBFC 12 rating because of "Mild drug and sex references in song lyrics". There is also a small (but surprising) amount of violent imagery in the game that you may or may not want to expose your kid to (machine gun bullets on one of the players' fret boards, slightly risqué guitar designs)... There's nothing too bad in it, but it's really only a decision that a parent can make on an individual basis.

If you want a slightly less risky version of the same thing, Rock Band is a bit cleaner and more family-friendly. Guitar Hero isn't bad either though.

Just make sure he doesnt get as good as this little fella, or he may find himself being despised by people like me who struggle on hard at 29 years old http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=3yEjyuw42YY
