#6
thanks just orderd the game hope you do get the controler too

I'm not convinced this comes with the Guitar Grip peripheral that's pretty vital to fully enjoy this game. Other prices I've seen around the £30 include this. I believe this price is for the "game only".

I bought this last week at Gatwick to play on my way to Rhodes. £23 in HMV duty free and thought why not. Anyhoo, the game itself is fine but the songlist is pretty poor to be honest.

The ones listed on the box, Nirvana, Smashmouth and Blink 182 are ok and there's a few tracks from GH3 (Satana, ZZ Top, Barracuda) but other then that its quite a shocking line up and thats the biggest let down.

The adaptor is ok but i think the strap should have been made to go diagonally as you either have to bend your wrist or tilt your head, neither of which is particularly good for you for long times which they actually point out in the manual and on boot up :?!

Don't know if that helps anyone but thought i'd spew a few thoughts. :)

Dont think this game was ever available as a 'game only'' edition. I should find out soon though, and I will post the results! :)
#10
Incidentally i don't think it can be played without the adaptor so i don't think they'd sell it without. Also meaning it'll be unplayable on the new DSi as it doesn't have the Gameboy slot. Could be wrong, i can't quite remember the specs. :)

I'm not so sure. You can play GH on a PS2 etc. without the Guitar controller by using the buttons on the regular control pad instead of the buttons on the guitar, and the DS has four buttons while the peripheral also has four...

I agree with h0l1yw0od, the controller hurts after a while because it forces your wrist into an unnatural position.

This is nowhere near as good as guitar hero with the guitar shaped controllers - give it a miss IMHO.

The more I think about it the more I am positive this does not come with the peripheral. To quote their website:

Guitar Hero: On Tour continues to build on the franchise’s signature easy-to-play, yet difficult to master addictive gameplay, and now lets players take their experience on the road wherever they go. Players use the Guitar Hero pick-stylus on the touch screen to strum their favorite tunes and create their rock n’ roll legacy in career mode.
If it comes with the peripheral why wouldn't you mention it?

Also, the picture of the box doesn't look like the usual one with the peripheral:

Pic on Movietyme:

Combine this with the very low price price (which includes shipping from the US to the UK - the peripheral must make it significantly heavier surely?! - and it seems pretty conclusive to me that this doesn't come with the accessory. Believe me, if was sure it did I'd be jumping on it because I want to get this (ith peripheral) as a Christmas pressie for someone!

Perhaps not in this country but maybe in the US?

I do hope I'm proved wrong before this goes off sale/out of stock!

Just wanted to confirm that you cannot play this game without the Guitar Grip peripheral. The game won't load without it, all you'll get is a message telling you to turn the power off and insert the Guitar Grip.

That sounds more promising.

If you have bought this and don't have the controller, you can purchase this

Current exchange rate means it'll cost £6.34, which is probably a bargain in it's own right
Purchased the controller myself, good build quality, seems almost exactly like the real thing

I can confirm I have used them very recently (Madagascar on Blu-Ray) and received the item quickly. They are well-regarded on the AV Forums.

Serves me right for being a pessimist :p Just didn't seem likely for that price including shipping to the UK. Would be helpful if they had a decent "contact us" form on their website to ask these things though :whistling:

Wonder if it was a temp miss-price or something? :?

Are the US boxes indistinguishable from the UK ones then?

Havent got a UK one to comare it against, but as far as the photo posted earlier is concerned, its the same! i.e, not the photo on their website!
