They got taken over by HMV. They re-opened a few shops and run them independently from HMV.

Did they still have a lot?
I want this, but not sure if I'm going to be heading towards there until after the New Year
Also, was this available on the xbox 360?
#10
They only got the one shop? Don't fancy travelling down London to save £15 lol.
#11
There's also a Fopp in central Manchester, so not just the one store :)
#12
fopp had a store in brighton rather snotty staff if i remember
#13
The chain operates independently of HMV preserving the FOPP brand name. Eight stores are now trading with the Fopp name under HMV ownership.[5]

* Cambridge, 37 Sidney Street.
* Edinburgh, 3/15 Rose Street.
* Glasgow, 19 Union Street.
* Glasgow, 358 Byres Road.
* London, 1 Earlham Street / 144 Shaftesbury Avenue (Covent Garden)
* Manchester, 19 Brown Street.
* Nottingham, The Frontage, Queen Street
* Bristol, College Green

there was about 5 in the london store. I was pretty shocked to see them at that price, no xbox 360 ones though on display. sucks!

they have a real good selection of dvds too. loads of £2 and £3 dvds.
#15
They were once the best in the industry. Selling cds much cheaper than any of the other retailers. They sold grey imports and mainly ones that were not current chart toppers. They started to try and compete with HMV and Virgin about 6 or 7 years ago and that's when things went wrong.

damn, i wanted the 360 one

I'll be in Central London on the 2nd so I'll try my luck then.

Think its only a matter of time before all the big retailers drop their price and are selling this at £35 to £40.

I think they finally realized that a RRP of £70 was ridiculous for a game especially when nobody has any disposable money at the moment anyway.

Never seen a 'Fopp' shop though.

just been to hmv in the metrocentre gatshead it was 35 pound they had it on wii ps3 and xbox360

Sure you aren't talking about Guitar Hero III there?
#21
Do they do student discount? What with them being a subsidiary of HMV...
#22
Not voting hot or cold, just giving my POV regarding GH WT. And I must say I'm very dissapointed with it. Loading times are a killer and the set list is utter trash. Having to play an encore after ever gig makes the game even slower. Having to select through lots of menus every single time makes it even more slower, and slower still since every menu brings up that stupid loading screen.

Generaly very very very slow and depressing.
#23
i just got this for £27 at woolworths
#24
the fact fopp still exists is way hotter than this deal :thumbsup:
#25
Fopp is great :)
I'm happy the Cambridge branch was the most profitable one and so got saved :)
It's not changed much even after HMV took over.

When?????????? The GH 3 was £35 at HMV Metrocentre....WT certainly wasn't...not at 3p.m. Sunday anyway!
#27
yeah, great if you can actually get to a store and it won't cost you a train ticket or fuel to get there, lol
#28
Nice find! I'll be heading into Cambridge tomorrow or Tuesday, so i'll have a look out for this! Fopp's always been a good place to get stuff that you can't find anywhere else!
#29
whats the cheapest for it freely available.

It's £48.29 at Argos, think that's the cheapest freely avaliable:

No good to me, all those locations are too far, it'd cost me more than £15 to get to the nearest one.
