Me too :-D

Beware that Powerplaydirect are likely to decline your Quidco payment if you use a voucher as well.
#12
So far this has the highest rating of any Xbox 360 game. Only 6 magazines have rated it but they are amazing ratings:

voted hot, not for me but a decent price and more likely to be honoured than the stupendously cheap price some have 'got' it for.

fingers crossed for you guys, hope you get it.
#14
i had this pre-ordered from amazon at £39.99, but the b******s didn't honour it, oh well whats another £15 or so
#15
I really want this game, but just out of my budget... is it really that good?
#16
i may cancel mine before release, not 100% that i will play it much, but have heard that you can play it on XBL one person plays lead and the other plays rythym dunno how true that is though
#17
Good find my man -- i was just about to preorder it for £64.99

Fwibble sorry to disappoint no xbox live for this game at launch --but the devs are talking about patching for online play but then dont believe the rumours

Extravaganza Btw :D

The great news is everyone who placed an order at the offer price will receive a copy

£55.99 on its own is a bargain
#20
Has this expired? The code doesnt seem to work for me :( After putting in CC details with the code, the next page still displays £55.99.
#21
My guess is that you can only use it a certain amount of times -- i havent personally orderd guitar hero 2 yet as i dont have any money on my card

But come on even if the code dont work thast still £10 under the rrp
#22
I've never used the code with powerplay before so I think it must have expired :(

Yeah I know its cheap, but I already own the game on PS2 and have completed practically every song 5 star on expert, only got about 8 left to do. Wasnt planning on buying it, but was tempted when I saw this price :)

Still in 2 minds...
#23
ahh thats **** -- hopefulyl when i order it like 12th april the price mite have dropped a bit
#24
Whats the view on this, will it get cheaper after release, or will demand mean that you can't buy it for love nor money!!!

need it with the guitar controller, so what do I look for
#25
to be honest - i cant see it going much lower for a while

at the end of the day even if you say 30 quid for te game you still need a guitar - so no one is going to sell that for less than 30 quid - never mind 20
#26
I wonder why they dont do the Guitar Hero for the original Xbox as well. They'd double their sales easily. :-(
#27
Expired :( now £60 --- ah dammit
#28
did anyone get this yet?
#29
Received mine, although it turned up like this, and no one's answering the phone of course at powerplay.

I won't be using them ever again, and I'm going to make damn sure I get a replacement or refund.
#30
Well, after calling Blockbusters and being advised they had one unit left, I decided to bite the bullet and drive there to but it.

OK, it wasn't the cheapest (£59.99), but I've had SO much fun this afternoon. I think I'm going to be addicted to it!

I'm a rock/metal fan, and the game really helps to get a feel of the music... great stuff, very engaging.

Just done 'Sweet Child O' Mine', and loved it loved it LOVED IT!

Well i got a despatch notification on the 4th and was expecting it to arrive today but it hasn't so im not a happy chap. And i hope that it is packaged better than yours was. Other wise i will be sending them an email.
#32
Can't wait for the Wii version :-D
#33
Ok that's three dispatches total now from powerplay that have turned up like this, I find it hard to believe these were isolated. Please complain, I fully intend to wring a replacement or refund out of whoever answers my email or the phone on tuesday!
#34
Can someone explain the general premise behind this game - do you have to be decent at guitar to get enjoyment out of it?
#35
Hey all,

my first post here but hopefully useful

Just a quick heads up that you can get guitar hero for £48.75 from foxy.co.uk

for a further £5 off

Cheers, (apologies if this posted twice, my first reply seemed to vanish)

Hey moob, no, not at all.

It's more of a guitar simulation (much simplified!).

It's like Dancing Stage Megamix (or any other dance matt game, in terms of it's pattern following structure), but you use the guitar-like controller. You have to play notes, chords and sustains in time with the onscreen scrolling instructions, adding flair where possible, by tilting the guitar, and using the hammer to stylise your playing.

It's very, very good, in that it eases you in gently, but it's very rewarding. If you come across a track you struggle keeping up with, you can use practice mode to nail it... selecting the whole track to practice, or the sections you're having trouble with. You can also slow tracks down to practice and build your finger speed up from there.

If you can afford it, and can get it for a decent price, I would really recommend it. If you have a decent sound system hooked up to your 360, even better.

Also, if you're a rock/metal fan, I've found Guitar Hero to be a dream come true, afterall I'm never going to play actual guitar to this level!

Go buy it, you'll LOVE it.

By the way, I don't work for Activision or Red Octane!

Many thanks for this.

All I need now is an XBOX 360 and this game.:whistling:
