Came across this at Opie Oils when searching for premium grade oil. This stuff does retail at double the price usually and is amongst Opie Oils premium range. At a fiver more than Magnatec its a great deal but once you switch its generally not recommended to go back to lower grade oils so you'll be paying a premium from then on unless you get another good deal.

EDIT: The 29.99 price is availble if you sign up to one of the owners club forums (think it gives a 10% discount?), its free, just a little hassle to register.

I see no reason to use this type of oil on normall road, Castrol Edge is excellent for newer cars, and gtx range is good enough for most cars

If someone is using Opie Oils then they don't have a "normal road car". Will let hubby know about this as the stuff we use is way more expenisve than this. even at full price.

Unless Im wrong tigger, I thought Castrol Edge was in the premium range on par with this at full price (around £50-60 for 5 litres)?

But yes, its a waste of money to throw this stuff into a Ford Focus, but I dont think its that uncommon for people to have an older sub £10k car with a turbo as well as people who just cant help letting rip before the engines suitably warmed up.

Opie oils sell all sorts of oils and car consumables, from bog standard to specialised products like this. I've only bought from them once but they seem a good company.

Voted cold but the un-informed I guess. No doubt something along the lines of -

"£29 for 5 litres of oil!! I can get 5 litres for £1.99 in ASDA"

Might be groovy in a high-revving motorcycle?

This is a perfect example of why the voting system on this website is fatally flawed. People with clearly no idea of what they are talking about have been able to vote cold without having to leave in a comment and without finding the item any cheaper.

Couldn't agree more. I have a BMW M5 and an old Vauxhall Astra. £29.99 for 5 litres of 10W-60 is brilliant but would be a complete waste if I put it in the old Astra.

Spot on, hot price!

why would anyone want to put in oil of this grade into their M5 !?!?!

it will be far too thick at operating temperatures and cause more problems than using the correctly specified bmw oil as specified !
