About GUNBUSTER
The first commercial success from the fan turned pro studio Gainax and the directorial debut of acclaimed creator Hideaki Anno (Neon Genesis Evangelion), GUNBUSTER casts pretty girls and giant robots in a moving tale of interstellar naval war and is a story of a young girls struggle to pilot the ultimate weapon. About DIEBUSTER (a.k.a. GUNBUSTER 2)The epic sequel directed by Kazuya Tsurumaki (FLCL) is set thousands of years after GUNBUSTER, and focuses on a space pilot wannabe named Nono from a lonely snowbound village. Her efforts lead her to join the elite teenage pilot group called Topless in order to defend the Sol System with their superpowers.

Synopsis
This collection includes the two GUNBUSTER films. GUNBUSTER (1988) is Hideaki Anno's first directorial triumph, and focuses on the adventures of Noriko Takaya, a young girl who enrolls in a school for space pilots and finds herself responsible for the fate of the world--a futuristic, anime world full of giant robots, elite naval fighting forces, and interstellar space monsters.

GUNBUSTER 2: DIEBUSTER (2004) follows a young girl named Nono who has left her home behind to come alone to the big city to pursue her grand dream of becoming a space pilot. But reality is harsh, and she spends every day instead at the diner near the spaceport where she lives and works. Then one day, while being harassed by one of the regular customers, a real-life space pilot named Lal'C comes to her aid. Lal'C is a member of 'Topless', a team of elite, psychic pilots who operate Buster Machines whose mission is to protect people of the Solar System from space monsters. During a monster attack, Lal'C witnesses Nono's superstrength which helps her defeat the alien.

Release date and RRP indicate this is the 3 disc Blu Ray edition. :)

Doesn't look like there was a standard DVD release of this set :)

It's the same on all of the Hut group sites by the way (The Hut, Zavvi, Lovefilm etc.) Probably a misprice or just trying to get attention, doubt they'll ever send them out. The same thing happened to Gundam Wing Complete Collection a couple of weeks ago, down from something like £70 to £5. Ordered before they removed the item from the site entirely, but of course got a cancellation e-mail after a while.

Just ordered my copy now. I'll let ya know if its DVD or BLU RAY

ordered thanks,

fairly sure it's bluray, certain its a misprice!

Actually just checked around and the DVD box set came out 28 Nov 2008. So it possible that this is DVD and not Blu Ray, also the details on Sendit being slightly limp can't mean anyone should assume that it's blu-ray.

I think you should maybe change the heading

It's got the same product number as the one off the asianblurayguide page... but i guess this means very little anyway.

http://www.asianblurayguide.com/detail/277/gunbuster_vs_diebuster_aim_for_the_top_the_gattai_box_anime_united_kingdom/

heat added and it would make a cool present for someone i know anyway if its the dvd...

No, I'm 99% certain the Gunbuster movies were only ever released on Blu-ray. You can check here on the distributors website (Beez), there's only Blu-ray listed.

i'm pretty sure its DVD, WHSmiths states this is DVD

and no listing for the blu-ray two movie boxset on find-dvd, but you can get the movies seperately on BD which are about £16!

still an excellent price, sold!
