Good price to try this scotch but Amazon has same price too. I was rather anxious of this stuff. Heavily marketed, celebrity endorsements .... not what I'd usually go for. And I prefer scotch whisky, am not a fan of bourbons, and this has been aged in bourbon casks.
The bourbon aging gives it genuine vanilla notes, without the strong bourbon taste. It is much more JW than JD. It is really really smooth, like a decent single malt. It's quite light in colour, and not particularly complex or deep in flavours, but just a really nice light whisky to sup. It's a very subtle flavour, lacks the harshness of cheap whisky brands, and would probably appeal to some people who think they don't normally like whisky.
