Is this really that bad? I mean it's better than bells right?

A whisky using david beckham in their ad campaign tells you everything you need to know.

This is Haig Club Clubman, not Haig Club.

This stuff is marketed as if it's a bloody aftershave. Might be all it's good for to be honest.

I picked this up last week on a punt, really not up-to much, it's quite sharp and harsh, tastes very thin and lacking any kind of real flavour or kick. I won't be purchasing it again.

Bought it, Liked it. I normally drink Jura or Talisker but this isn't bad

single grain whisky really is rough

this is the 'mediocre' stuff that blended whiskies add to malt whiskies to make a blend

they bulk out the malt whiskies

they are cheap

& rough

Well they tried their hardest to make the bottle look like a cheap 1980s aftershave so they are doing well in that regard

this is probably how much it's worth, as it is Cameron Brig, which costs a little less than this

"Diageo has revealed details of a new whiskey it is set to launch under the David Beckham Haig Club name, as it looks to attract a younger audience who are looking to drink the spirit with a mixer."

Tells you all you need to know really ;)

Anything is better than Bell's !!! oO
Best Blended Grain Whisky out there in my humble opinion is Ballantyne's (especially if it is reduced from it's normal £20 to £16 as is often the Morrison's / Waitrose / Tesco case).

Blue Stratos !!! How dare you...it was my favourite "cheap aftershave" in the day :{

lidl sell ben bracken a nice drop

It's not that bad, wouldn't buy it again at the full price, but at £17 will probably get some in.

you just get a single grain the bottle???

Single grain 'cheap' whiskies like this are generally terrible, far too harsh. Tasted the Haig Club (3x the price) and that was not good for what it cost. Normally need blending into a better taste. The fact that Simon Fuller and DB7 are 'brand ambassadors' for this phish, keeps me well away from this overpriced drink.

By the way, about 5 years ago, Bells as a superb drink as Malt Whiskey sales had really fallen so Bells used a higher percentage and for a year or two produced some nice stuff. Unfortunately Malt prices are high at the moment, so the quality has suffered.

If you want to spend £17 on a bottle, try Ballantines and avoid the hyped Haig stuff

I would rather buy a bottle of Evian for £17 than buy Haig Club.
